03/09/11 - East Manchester Junior Football League 3D Dynamos B 4 AFC Oldham B 1 It looked like it was going to be a close game with both teams playing well and having early chances. But we soon gathered momentum and started passing the ball well with Billy tapping home the first goal after Thomas hit a good shot against the post. And then Thomas made sure he got his name on the score sheet with a rocket of a shot at the near post. Just before half-time we were outnumbered at the back and Oldham got back in the game, but overall Joshua H marshaled the defence brilliantly, Joshua C pulled off some good saves and Joe H and Daniel S provided great support. Dan was superb in the defensive midfield position, Ryan and Owen linked up well in midfield and the second half we really came into our own with Joe H putting in a fantastic MOTM performance with his tackling and dribbling. A big salute to Billy for slotting in our third goal! And then Ryan who had moved up front scrambled home our fourth after more good work from Joe H. 3D Dynamos A 7 AFC Oldham A 0 We started the game brightly and had a couple of early chances. We passed the ball well, but it looked we might have a frustrating afternoon until Joe L put in a good cross and it brushed off a defender and then Charles before nestling into the net. Charlie went on a good run and finished well chipping the keeper for our second. Gabriel then slotted home our third before Zak smashed one in at the near post from the wing. 4-0 at half-time. Joshua C pulled off some amazing saves in both halves to keep a well deserved clean sheet, whilst Joe L was a rock at the back and MOTM Chris tackled well and supported the attack with his blistering runs. Henry showed great skills, Ollie linked up well and was full of running whilst overall the passing was first class. In the second half Gabriel headed home from a good cross. Zak hit an unstoppable shot and Charles coolly passed the ball into the next for the 7th. |
09/04/11 Another great performance for the last game of the season. And so much action it's hard to remember everything that happened. In the first game good passing led to Billy tapping home the opener. Then Henry finished superbly slamming the ball into the top corner for the second. Josh H was excellent in defence as usual. MOTM Dan put in some brilliant corners and supported the attack well on his marauding runs through the middle. Josh C pulled off some good saves to keep a clean sheet. Ollie deserved a goal for all his running. And Thomas and Jo H were full of running and passing. In the 2nd half Ryan made his debut up front. Billy came very close with a curling shot that was just tipped around the post. And Henry showed fantastic control and dribbling skills. A fabulous and energetic performance on a very hot day. Well done boys. In the 2nd game it was very close in the 1st half with Zak and Charlie both going close, before a penalty was given. Zak nearly burst the net with the penalty! In the 2nd half we really got into our stride. Josh showed some brave keeping. MOTM Jo L was cool on the ball and defended superbly alongside Chris who used his pace to thwart any breakaways. Gabriel then scored a fantastic goal turning the ball into the top corner from a well hit pass. Zak put in some brilliant corners all game and then connected with a pass and beat a couple of defenders and the goalkeeper at the near post for our third. Charles came close during another good breakaway before slotting home following an excellent run from Charlie. There was just enough time for a fabulous finish from Daniel on his debut following a flowing move. 4-0 win. Four points from both games. Third place in the league. All of the boys and their parents should be very proud! |
02/04/11 What a couple of games! So, much happened it's hard to remember everything - but here goes. In the 1st game the swirling wind played a big part and we found ourselves 3-0 down after some powerful shooting from long range gave Josh C no chance. But in the second half we began to believe in ourselves and made a remarkable comeback. Daniel and Josh H parked a bus in front of the goal, Josh C pulled off a couple of great saves, MOTM Henry showed cool passing and Thomas and Billy rose to the challenge passing and tackling well. This led to Ollie running at the defence, beating a couple of defenders and thrashing home our first goal. More good passing play from midfield set up Ollie again who hit a powerful shot that was parried by the keeper and rolled over the line for our second. Then when we had a free kick in the last few seconds, up stepped Dan to rocket the ball into the top corner to make it 3-3. A great come back complete! In the 2nd game we soon found ourselves one down. However inspired by our 1st match we went on the attack and Zak sidestepped a couple of players before smashing home the equaliser at the near post. Then as we sought to take the lead, a quick move caught us out at the back and Josh had no chance with the finish. However, the boys regrouped at half time and we went on the attack again. Chris and MOTM Jo L supported the attack well. Jo H showed plenty of pace and skill on the wing. Charles and Charlie were everywhere. And Gabe weaved around players at the front. The constant pressure led to Zak thrashing home our equaliser. And then in the last minute, Charlie won the ball, slid it to Gabe who shifted the ball well before coolly curling it into the top corner. 3-2 winners. Unbelievable. |
East Manchester Junior Football League - Under 9s 26/03/11 An important 3 points from 2 tough games. In the 1st game we put together some great passing moves with Henry, Thomas, Dan & Ollie combining well to set up Billy to fire home the first goal. More slick passing soon led to the energetic Ollie thumping home the second. MOTM Dan was everywhere and Daniel was also full of energy. Josh C made some fine saves. And Josh H was always in the right place at the right time. Thomas came close twice in the second half after a couple of great runs, even hitting the post, but unfortunately our domination was undone by 2 powerful free kicks, 1 with the last kick of the game. The result was a 2-2 draw. But we deserved more and everyone can be proud of their efforts and passing. In the 2nd game our passing could have been a bit slicker, but good combination work led to Charles running through and scoring with aplomb. Josh pulled off some fine saves. Jo L had another excellent game in defence. Charlie covered every inch of the pitch. Gabriel twisted and turned his way through the midfield. Jo H’s pace was used to good effect on the wing. And MOTM Chris used his pace to cut out most attacks. Zak also had a great game and his powerful corner proved the winner as it thumped into the top corner. And although we got overrun at the back for their goal, we were comfortable 2-1 winners. Well done boys. |
19/03/11 3D Dynamos A 4 TSC United
A 2 Match 19/03/11 v TSC United. Another good performance
all round, so much so that it was very difficult to pick MOTMs. The
first game was a real nerve jangler and resulted in a 4-2 win.
Zak soon beat a couple of men before slotting home our first, but they
then equalised when we got overrun at the back. Charlie then bundled
home our second after great work by Charles. And then in the 2nd half
Chris curled one in following a free kick. The opposition then nicked
a goal back before MOTM Charlie finally scored a header from one of
Zak's fantastic corners after hitting the bar and coming close earlier.
Josh C and Jo L were composed at the back while Gabriel linked up play
superbly. In the second game it was also close run and the score was
still 0-0 at half time. But MOTM Thomas stayed calm as he ran at goal
to slot home the first. He then thumped in a second with the keeper
out of position. Both Josh's were excellent at the back. Henry mesmerised
the opposition with his dribbling. Daniel and Billy showed great commitment.
Sam ran his socks off. And Dan was outstanding in defence, midfield
and attack! |
12/03/11 – Division Plate (semi-final) 3D Dynamos B 2 Withington
Rangers 2 If only we could just play second halves. 4 goals scored. 0 conceded. But unfortunately we conceded 5 in the first halves, as we came extremely close to the final. In the 1st game it took us a while to get going and some powerful shooting meant we were 3-0 down at half time. However the boys rolled their sleeves up and Dan and the 2 Josh’s were outstanding at the back. Ollie grabbed a brace of goals. MOTM Henry ran things in midfield and came close to scoring from a corner whilst Thomas, Daniel & Jo H showed plenty of energy. In the 2nd game it took us a while to adjust to the long throws, but again we rallied, started to believe in ourselves and played the better football. Chris and Jo L snuffed out the attack in open play. MOTM Josh C came out of his box well to clear. Zak nearly broke the net with our first goal. And then Charles and Charlie linked up well for Gabriel to beat his man twice and slam home the equaliser. We were thwarted at the end as we sought the winner, but everybody can be proud of their performance. |
26/02/11 – Division Plate 3D Dynamos A 3 FC
Sports A 0 Match 12/03/11 v FC Sports. In the first game it was very close, Chris & Jo L were solid at the back and Charlie linked up well with Gabriel who slotted home the first goal before more slick passing led to MOTM Zak smashing home the second. Josh C pulled off good saves in both games whilst in the second game Josh H, Daniel and Sam limited the chances for FC Sports at the back, and MOTM Dan again revelled in his midfield role. Jo H showed good skills and Thomas and Billy put together some good passing moves, linking up with Ollie who showed cool finishing for both his goals and nearly grabbed a hat trick. In the second half Henry sprinted through before smacking the ball into the top corner. Well done boys. We're through to the semi-final next week. More of the same please. |
26/02/11 3D Dynamos A 6 Hollingworth
Juniors A 0 Another great performance by the boys. In the first game we won 5-2. Billy was a goal poacher with the first goal, before the equaliser came from a looping shot. Our second was an own goal following a corner from Dan who relished his midfield role. Daniel and the two Joshuas were solid at the back, Thomas ran well in midfield and good passing moves led to Billy's second and third goals, sandwiched by a goal from MOTM Henry who hit a long distance shot right into the corner. In the second game we won 6-0, but Joshua C, Jo L and Chris were kept busy at the back and had to be on their toes. Charles opened the scoring showing good strength and a cool head to finish on the run. Sam blasted home a second following a nice passing move. And MOTM Zak showed great composure and cool finishing to score the second hat trick of the day. Charlie scored the sixth after running on to a long through ball and slotting the ball past the keeper. Keep up the good work. |
19/02/11 3D Dynamos A 4 Dukinfield
Tigers A 0 Everyone can be proud of another fantastic performance. In the first game there was plenty of hard work, we played some good football and deserved a 2-2 draw at least. Billy scored with a high curling shot following some nice passing and Henry scored a superb solo effort, running from the half way line. Dan and Josh H performed heroics at the back whilst Daniel, Thomas and Jo H marshalled the midfield well. MOTM honours went to Josh C for a string of magnificent saves, including two penalty saves within the space of 30 seconds. The second game was a one sided affair with great passing and movement stretching the opposition. Josh C again pulled of some great saves and Chris and Jo L were excellent at the back, even when outnumbered. Our first goal was an own goal following good pressure and then Gabriel came close. Charles was cool in front of goal to slot home a second whilst Zak smashed in the third and Charlie finally got the goal he deserved. |

Stanley 0 Match 05/02/11 v AFC Stanley. Well done boys. A good performance against a strong team that has a few players on city's books. We were unlucky, there was nothing between the teams, but they go to the final. In the 1st game we drew 0-0 and had the better of the chances. Zak had several shots including one that hit the post. And then a great passing move led to Daniel also hitting the post. Dan and Josh were excellent in defence and MOTM Josh C pulled off one magnificent save in particular to stop the ball going in the top corner. Ollie, Jo H and Thomas showed good skills and ran hard in wet and blustery conditions. In the 2nd game we were unlucky to lose 1-0 when they scored as MOTM Chris was off the field with an injury. We were frustrated by the opposition and their keeper pulled off a great save as Charlie's shot headed for the top corner. Jo L and brave keeping from Josh C kept things solid at the back. Whilst Gabriel, Charles, Henry and Billy tackled and linked up well in midfield. |

Phoenix B 1 3D Dynamos A 4 Reddish
Phoenix A 0 We took 3 points out of a possible 4 and played some great football. The first match was a bit scrappy at times but we took the lead through a well worked goal scored by Charles. Zak, Jo H and Daniel ran their hearts out and linked up well, whilst Gabriel also showed plenty of energy. Josh C was man of the match for two good saves at the end, whilst Dan made a couple of great blocks and Josh H put in his usual solid performance at the back. In fact we were really unlucky that they equalised through an own goal. In the second game there were some fantastic passing and it was difficult to choose a MOTM. Charlie scored a hat trick and nearly got more. Zak scored from the edge of the box. Dan came close with a long range effort. And the passing between Henry, Gabriel, Thomas and MOTM Jo L was a joy to watch. Josh C kept a clean sheet and Chris was in the thick of the action at both ends. |
22/01/2011division three cup 3D Dynamos B 3 Reddish Phoenix B 0 3D Dynamos A 0 Reddish Phoenix A 1 Match 22/01/11 v Reddish Phoenix. The boys are deservedly though to the semi finals of our league cup. In the first game we played some really good football and 3-0 was a fair scoreline. MOTM Gabriel got the scoring underway and showed some good dribbling skills. An own goal came from a corner and then goal defender Josh H turned goal poacher with the third goal. Josh C and Dan did well to keep a clean sheet. Ollie, Henry, Charles and Daniel linked up in well in midfield and came close on a couple of occasions. In the second game we lost 1-0 but this didn't reflect our chances or possession. Zak had numerous shots which were saved or just wide. Charlie beat several players on a run from half-way only to see his shot saved. Billy came close on a couple of occasions and we did everything but score. Josh C pulled off a number of good saves and Chris and MOTM Jo L were so good at the back, they were able to help out up front. Whilst Jo H and Thomas in midfield ran their socks off. |

Stanley B 3 3D Dynamos A 0 AFC Stanley A 3 At last, after a snow induced winter break, we had a game on! The opposition was tough last time and proved even tougher this time. But all was looking good in the first game after Billy gave us a well deserved lead following a good run from MOTM Ollie. Josh made some good saves and Jo L and Josh H were solid at the back. There were some good passing moves involving Henry, Daniel and Jo H and despite plenty of energy, we tired a little as you'd expect and the result ended in a 3-1 defeat. It was a similar story in the second game with a very even contest in the first half and an unlucky goal giving them the lead. However our lack of football showed and we ran out of steam in a 3-0 loss. Zak came close and hit the bar with a free kick. Josh C, Chris and Dan defended well under pressure. And Thomas, Gabriel and MOTM Charlie showed plenty of energy. We played against a good team after not playing for a while - so we can be proud of our efforts. |

3 Both games were very close as we played a team that's just dropped down a division. And all of the boys can be very happy with their performance as despite the results, both teams put together the best passing moves we've ever seen from them. The first game was packed with goal-mouth incidents as both teams came close to a winner. In the end it finished 1-1 with a cool finish from Henry. Jo L was MOTM playing in defence alongside the two Josh's who put in solid performances. Daniel and Billy showed plenty of energy. And Jo H came very close to a winner at the end. The second game was also full of incident and finished in a 3-2 loss although there was nothing between the teams. FC Sports scored from two free kicks and we responded with a good goal from MOTM Gabriel and another goal that was scrambled in by Charlie and Zac. Thomas and Chris did some great tackles at the back. Josh pulled off some good saves. And Charles linked up well up front. Well done everyone and let's have more great passing next Saturday. |

Dynamos A 1 Heyside Juniors A 2 The first game was an end-to-end affair. Heyside were lucky to take the lead with a deflected shot but two well taken goals from Joseph H up front meant the game finished 2-2. Both Joshuas and Sam played particularly well at the back, whilst Charles carved out a couple of chances up front and Thomas, Daniel and Henry battled well in midfield. In the second game, we found ourselves overstretched at the back a couple of times, despite good work from Josh, Dan, Chris, Charlie and Jo L. Oliver and Gabriel were sprightly in midfield whilst Zak scored our consolation penalty in a 4-1 loss. |
Match 06/11/10 v Withington Rangers: Playing top of the league was going to be a tough challenge but all of the lads put in a brilliant performance. In the first game we dominated the first half and took a well deserved lead when Charles smashed home from a Jo L cross. Josh C pulled off some great saves, but unfortunately despite some determined defending from Josh H & Sam, Withington equalised. Both teams came close to a win and there was plenty of running from Thomas, Jo H and Daniel in an end to end game that finished 1-1. In the second game we won 2-1, thanks to two goals from Zak, including a superb long range free kick. Josh was unlucky with their goal, also from a free kick, but did well with a couple of brave saves, whilst Chris and Dan snuffed out the attack whilst supporting our forwards well. Charlie came close a couple of times up front whilst Gabe and Henry added flair and industry in midfield. Overall fantastic results, but remember - we play our best when we pass! |
30/10/10 v Curzon Ashton (cup): An 8-0 aggregate score line might seem like a nightmare result on the eve of Halloween, but the boys can be very proud of their efforts and there is no shame in losing to a team that is 2 divisions above. The 1st game finished 2-0 and was a notable for a fangtastic goal line clearance from Charlie, Charles scaring the defence with a good solo run and some great ghoulkeeping from Josh C and Jo H. Thomas and Joseph L drove the opposition bats with sound defending while Josh H staked his claim for MOTM and Billy added plenty of bite in attack. The 2nd game finished 6-0, a scoreline that flattered the opposition. Zak ghosted into the box and came close a couple of times. Gabe put in some good crosses, Dan and Chris ran around like demons in defence whilst Ollie, Henry and Jo H put in a monster effort. And Josh pulled off some good saves faced with plenty of long range shots and some ghastly challenges. Have a good halloween. And don't forget to wear the new kit next week. |
23/10/10 v TSC United. A good weekend with two wins. The first game was evenly balanced but the boys deserved their 1-0 win thanks to MOTM Thomas's late winner. Billy hit the post and Charles and Henry came close to scoring too. Whilst Sam, Josh. Joseph L (goalie 1st half) and Morgan did really well to keep a clean sheet . The second game was a more one sided affair with the opposition tiring. And it was hard to keep track of all of the goals, but the league and myself agreed it was 10-0 with one from Gabriel, two from Charlie and 7 from MOTM Zak. Joseph H was also very unlucky not to score whilst Chris and Dan put in very energetic performances, defending well and supporting the attack. Morgan was quiet most of the time, but still managed to pull off a couple of good saves. It was a fantastic performance by all and hopefully next week will be more of the same. |
16/10/10 v AFC Stanley In the first game, a 5-2 loss wasn't a fair reflection for a team who ran their socks off. Henry scored a superb goal and Daniel got his first for the club on his debut. Oliver was MOTM for his energetic performance and all round play whilst Josh C, Josh H, Thomas, Joseph H and Billy all linked up well. The second game was a real nail biter with a 2-0 win and Zak scoring from a well rehearsed corner and another from a great passing move with Gabriel, Charles and Charlie all providing good support. Chris and Dan were fantastic at the back and Joseph L played well in a number of positions. But MOTM Josh C stole the show with some unbelievable saves. Well played everyone. |
18/09/10 v Denton Youth The first game deserved a draw but unfortunately in this close game we lost 1-0. Billy, Thomas, Oliver & Jospeh H ran their socks off in midfield and attack whilst Josh C, Sam and MOTM Henry did some great tackling and keeping - and very nearly kept a clean sheet. The second game was also hard fought with a free kick from Gabriel making the difference in a 1-0 win. Charlie, Joseph L and Charles all came close whilst again there was great defending from Dan, Josh C and MOTM Christian. Both teams are making good progress. |
11/09/10 v Dukinfield Tigers It was all looking so good when Henry put us one up in the first game with a cool finish. And we threw everything but the kitchen sink at them in both games. But somehow the ball wouldn't go in. We lost the first game 4-1, but the score line didn't reflect our good play. And we drew the second game 0-0. Thanks to all of the boys for running their socks off today and coping with all the knocks and bruises. |
