3d finished their season with an impressive win against a Yorkshire Lions team that still need one more win from their last two games to take first spot from us.Today,our communication and organisation was greatly improved with 'keeper Sam Wilson,skipper Sam Griffiths and Dan Payne marshalling the team and taking on the responsibility.In the middle of the park Marcus Schofield and m.o.m. Harry Stephens totally dominated proceedings with excellent support from Joe Whipday and Bradley Cunningham.The full backs Ollie Heginbotham and Jason Norris both had strong games.The forwards Alex and Lewis produced some good link up play,carving open the Lions defence on numerous occasions.Lewis equalised an earlier Lions goal ,with Alex scoring the winner and his 53rd goal of the season.
It would have been a travesty of justice if 3d had lost today,for long periods we outplayed our opponents,playing with more composure and assurance.Subs Robert Crossland and Dan Shepherd both did well and played their part in a positive end to a successful season.Let's now look forward to the challenges that lay ahead in next seasons first division.Thanks very much for your efforts this season and a big thank you for the support of the parents. Champagne for the players and supporters after the match for the second time in two seasons as 3d's guaranteed the runners up spot,to achieve back to back promotions.Today there was plenty of endeavour ,but we also played with some anxiety, and our lack of composure in certain areas threatened to undo us.You judge players and teams though, over the course of a season ,and you should all be proud of the hard work and commitment you've put in.Congratulations,you thoroughly deserve it.

Congratulations to all the squad for a magnificent winning sequence that stretched back to early October.The applause your supporters gave you after the match for your efforts in that time was very much deserved.Although first place now looks out of our reach after this defeat,one win from our our final two games will give us runners -up.The sign of a good team is how they react after a loss.C'mon Boys!

3d's travelled to Scholes with only 11 players through different reasons and then cruelly Dan Payne turned an ankle early in the game. The boys though were in no mood to be beaten and after going behind 3 times(1-0 ,2-1 then3-2) finished the game comfortable winners. A big well done to Payney for finishing the game and playing his part in a good team performance.

Today we produced a different sort of performance .A performance that showed resilience and some guts against a highly motivated and committed side.After going behind, we slowly took a grip of the game but squandered chances without playing well, and at times it looked like being one of those days....  . After taking the lead midway through the second half we failed to take that all important third goal and although Penistone didn't create many chances ,they did seem to spend a lot of time in our half ,which did cause some anxious moments. Today boys you dug deep and showed character when needed. A sign of a good team with spirit.

Some good football and performances.A lack of concentration contributed to three Challenge goals in ten minutes when leading 4-0 to bring us in at h-t 4-3.Normal service was resumed in the 2nd half after a wake up call to some players during the interval.

An excellent performance in avenging an early season defeat. Apart from a 15 minute spell which showed why Netherton have made the Huddersfield cup final (beating 3 first division teams along the way), 3d's showed too much desire and could have scored double on another day.

From previous experience with Kirkheaton we expected a physical game, and they didn't disappoint us .In that department, we outfought them all over the pitch. Our extra quality out wide and up top, then proved too much for Kirkheaton who were complimentary and gracious in defeat. This victory takes us to second in the league, a testament to all your efforts after a poor start. Keep on working hard on practise nights as well as match days. This is key to improvement and success.

Not our best performance but 3 points nonetheless against an over physical side who tried intimidating tactics at times, to throw us off our game. Some good passing and skill produced but not reaching the level of previous games. Congratulations for the win boys but we need to up our game a notch, for some tougher tests over the next couple of months.

Another comeback against a team that deservedly led 3-2 at half -time with some excellent football. In the second half our grit and desire proved too much for Skelm, helped in no small measure by some good pass and support play .Well done all 14 players.

A classic match against established first division opponents. Lady luck deserted us as we bowed out in glorious fashion. In an even first half we found ourselves 2-0 down at the break as a result of some clinical finishing from the hartshead strikers.A response was needed and two were delivered in quick succession,first a great finish from Lewis and the second from Sam Wilson after Joe and Alex had carved open their defence. A generous penalty decision gifted Hartshead a 3-2 margin after Robert had superbly saved an earlier one. 3 d's came storming back with Alex scoring with a goal that involved Lewis ,Bradley ,Oliver and Bilbo. Hartshead then scored what proved to be the winner but not before a tremendous effort by 3d's to try and take the game into extra time. Boys, take on board the complimentary comments by the Hartshead coaches and lets keep improving.

A very disappointing performance,especially after last weeks showing.Individual errors contributed to an embarrassing eight goals conceded ,after leading 2-0 .Too many players didn't apply the basic requirements of playing football and as a consequence, we made an average team look good.Lets put it right next week.

Top of the table Honley came crashing down to earth after being totally outplayed and outfought in a stunning if not unexpected display by 3d's.Our attacking play was bright ,adventurous and incisive from back to front.When defending,our tackling,covering and setting up from corners, free kicks and dead balls was much improved(apart from the last 5mins when 9-1up!)Well done to all 14 players for raising the bar.Lets raise it again.

4-0 down at half -time and the team talk hardly heard with all the coughing and spluttering 3d's wallking wounded produced a fantastic 2nd half performance.  Well done to all 12 players and a special mention for the boys who played while under the weather.  Well done to Jason Norris for the first recipient of the mars bar award for the first player to score with his head from a corner.  Keep believing boys and our first win will come.
