Saturday 7 May 2011 - Friendly 3D Dynamos 2 v 1 Broadway Celtic Jacob Fraser Joe Elliot Danny Elliot Josh
Skelly Jack (c) Jake Subs: Aaron, Josh Leah, Jimbo, Josh Lindsay, Harry, Joe Chadderton, Rev
Attendance - 35 (14 visiting supporters) Dynamos Singing in the Rain Our final game of an eventful season saw the Dynamos win for the 2nd week running and extend our unbeaten run to 8 games (including the 6 a side). With 18 players to choose from and only Sam (injured) and Ashy missing, the game was used to give everyone as much game time as possible. The starting 11 played down the slope and with the wind and used both to good effect as we found ourselves 2 up after 13 minutes - the first saw Mike open his account for 3Ds after Danny crossed and Joe chested the ball in to his path and he made no mistake from 6 yards out. The 2nd was a carbon copy of a goal from last week against Medlock with the same 2 players involved again, Danny assisting the goal with an in-swinging corner which was headed home by Joe on 11 minutes. The half although dominated by 3Ds saw Broadway cause us problems on 2 occasions with Jacob coming to the rescue with a good block in the first instance and Elliot clearing one off the line for the other. Half time 3D Dynamos 2 v 0 Broadway Celtic Unfortunately for Celtic the wind dropped at half time and down came the rain meaning the advantages we had in the first half didn't go with them in the 2nd. The football wasn't as fluid as the first (mainly due to all the substitutions), however we remained in control without really looking like scoring or conceding. That is until a fantastic solo effort with 2 minutes to go from a Celtic midfielder who nutmegged Jack, went round another defender before curling the ball into the top corner. We saw the game out and ended the game on a high which is very pleasing for everyone concerned. Full Time 2 - 1 A big thank you from Neil and I to all the players, supporters and everyone concerned with our team and roll on next season. Have a good summer boys. Steve and Neil |
Saturday 30 April 2011 - Friendly Medlock 3 v 4 3D Dynamos
Josh Fraser Joe Elliot Danny Jake Josh Skelly Jack (c) Jimbo Woody Mike Subs
Attendance - 33 (19 visiting supporters) A win at last as 3Ds finally found the winners enclosure in a friendly against Medlock. With one eye on the future, preparations are well under way for next season with potential summer targets all getting a run out today. Against the driving wind in the first half 3D's battled away all half and went in only 2 - 1 down. The first goal on 5 minutes went straight in from a corner with the keeper and 2 defenders on the post looking on helplessly. Danny then slammed home a free kick from the edge of the box following a hand ball by the keeper on 11 minutes before Medlock restored the lead on 18 minutes. Half time Medlock 2 - 1 3D Dynamos With the wind the Dynamos got quickly out of the blocks and drew level 2 minutes after the break with Brocky finding the net to, a corner 3 minutes later from Danny found Joe charging in at the back post to take us into the lead. On 56 minutes Woody flicked the ball onto Danny, who took a touch from 30 yards out before slamming home in what can only be descibed as a 'Screamer'. Dynamos now 4 - 2 to the good and Aaron decided Danny's goal wasn't all that good and volleyed home from 25 yards out leaving the keeper no chance - unfortunately it was Josh Leah who was picking the ball out of the net, probably the best o,g you will ever see. Presentation Night on Friday and one more friendly at home next Saturday. Keep Smiling Boys Steve and Neil |
Saturday 23 April 2011 - League 3D Dynamos 4 v 5 Monton Amateurs Jacob Aaron Joe Elliot Danny Jimbo Josh Skelly Jack (c) Kieran Woody Jake Subs: Harry,Sam, Josh Leah Attendance - 49 (11 visiting supporters)
Dynamos Delight But No Golden Ticket Following the fantastic performance on Monday in our European friendly against Liffey, we stuck to the same shape and squad where we could. The exceptions were Fraser who was away and Elliot who has suffered a further setback on his back injury, in came Sam for Elliot and Harry for Fraser. This paid dividends as 5 minutes in we were in front following some good football from Danny, Jake and then Jack who slotted home from the edge of the box. The game was end to end and for 15 minutes Dynamos were on top, however as the midfield 3 lost a bit of spark Monton got their possession of play and goals on 19, 28 and 34 saw them take a 3 - 1 lead into the interval. It wasn't all one way as Jack saw a shot sail just over the bar from 35 yards out, Woody somehow missed from 10 yards and several other chances were squandered. Half Time 3D Dynamos 1 v 3 Monton Amateurs Half time substitutions saw Josh replace Jacob in goal and Sam replace Jimbo in the centre of midfield, the team were told that they had been the better overall but needed to take the chances as that was the only difference. Four minutes into the 2nd half and the goal of the season (my thoughts anyway) saw us get back to 3 -2. Danny broke down the left wing before beating 2 players on the bye-line, his cross was missed by Woody but reached Jake on the right of the box, Jake composed himself before crossing for Sam who headed home (yes headed) in off the crossbar - superb football and well done Sam. The equaliser followed on 47 minutes and sent the Dynamos army into sheer ecstasy as a free kick was floated in by Joe and Jack applied the finish. Two minutes later though and we were behind again as Josh Skelly held onto the ball to long and when it ran free to the right of the box it was hammered home superbly and gave Josh Leah in goals no chance at all. The game was now end to end and chances came and went, but on 64 minutes the yellow army were on their feet again as the boys showed fantastic character to get back on level terms - first Danny miscontrolled the ball near the Monton corner flag and gave away a throw in, his annoyance proved too much for the Monton thrower and receiver as he harassed them into a back pass which went straight to Woody who wasn't going to be denied from their - 4 each with 6 minutes to go. I was asked at this point if I would settle for a draw and maybe drop Brocky back - not a chance this could be our time as we were in the ascendancy and after not winning since the opening day gave the lads the chance to win. It wasn't to be and our hearts were broken with 2 minutes to go - the Monton winger cut past 2 defenders and laid the ball across the box for the oncoming player to slide it past Josh in goals (again nothing Josh could do at all). For the remaining 2 minutes we gave it everything but couldn't pull it round. Full Time 4 - 5 The Monton manager was again full of praise for us and said that they had played easier games against some of the so called better sides in the league and why we were bottom he didn't know - the ref on hearing that we had only won once all season was also disbelieving and said the boys were a credit to us. Monday 18 April 2011 - European Friendly 3D Dynamos 0 v 1 Liffey Valley Rangers (Dublin)
Jacob Fraser Joe Elliot Danny Elliot Josh Skelly Jack (c) Kieran Woody Mike Subs Attendance - 49 (23 visiting supporters) A fantastic effort today against a Dublin outfit who have only lost once all season and are currently top of the Dublin Premier League. A goal on 26 minutes settled the European friendly following some good wing play down our right and a cross that was put in. We had our chances and played really well and beyond the levels that we have produced this season, Mike had a fantastic debut and did everything but score on a couple of occasions. From keeper right through all the substitutes we produced one of the better performances this season. Keep The Faith Steve and Neil |
Saturday 9 April 2011 - League Elton Sports Club 4 v 0 3D Dynamos
Josh Aaron Elliot Fraser Jake Skelly Jimbo Sam Jack (c) Ashy Josh Lindsay Rev Subs: Kieran, Woody, Josh Skelly, Jacob, Elliot Attendance - 43 (21 visiting supporters)
Elton not 'Under Pressure' The big squad finally came to haunt the management team with Danny, Joe and Harry having to be left out of the squad for the last away trip of the season at Elton Sports Club. The team had an unfamiliar starting line up as the rebuilding process starts for next season, a test of characters was what we wanted to find out today and in the first half lined up 4 - 4 - 2 and then in the 2nd half we reverted back to 3 - 5 - 2 which looks at the moment like the way we should be playing. The first half saw 3Ds again excel with the ball, but like so many times this season look far from the finished article without it, as Elton chalked up 3 goals with no pressure being applied by 3Ds for any of them. The first saw a corner float all the way to the back post and the Elton scorer given the freedom of the 6 yard box. The 2nd and 3rd were replica's of each other, not one Dynamos player applied any pressure when the ball was picked up 20 - 30 yards out. This allowed the scorers plenty of time to set themselves and apply the finishing touch. Not to be all doom and gloom as this was the only difference between the teams and we had chances ourselves to get on the score sheet. Half Time Elton Sports Club 3 v 3D Dynamos 0 The message at half time was to close down at every opportunity and given the fact that the substitutes had seen everything and agreed, the team were encouraged to go out, get a clean sheet and try to win the half. What followed in the next 35 minutes was pressure applied at every opportunity along with possession football played like we had in the first half. All that was missing was a goal, but it wasn't for the want of trying as Woody went close on a couple of occasions and a couple of corners caused the Elton defence some concern. As for the clean sheet well that hope disappeared harshly on 51 minutes as Aaron slid in to block a cross and landed on the ball, the ref adjudged that the hand hit the ball intentionally and gave a penalty - such was the frustration that Kieran (the quietest man on the pitch) was spoken to by the referee for questioning the decision.....referee's never change their mind over decisions so always better to keep your thoughts to yourself. Full Time 4 - 0 Every member of the squad is responsible for making life difficult for the opposition when we don't have the ball, just as they are when we have it - the football we try to play when in possession is good and is what we practice at training. If we just get the other part of the game right we will be fine...... Another game played (3 in the last 4 games) were we were complemented by the opposing manager for the football we play. I am at your request trying to get a friendly for next Saturday and then its Monton in the last game of the season on Easter Saturday - we can finish on a high if you all apply yourselves. Saturday 2 April 2011 - League Monton Amateurs 4 v 1 3D Dynamos Josh Jake Skelly Aaron Elliot Josh Skelly Danny Sam Jack (c) Kieran Josh Lindsay Woody Subs Harry, Joe, Rev, Jacob Attendance - 39 (20 visiting supporters)
Monton thankful for Dynamos lack of cutting edge. Another goal conceded in the early stages made 3D's dig deep and put in arguably there best performance of the season, with the scoreline flattering the homeside and that came from the Monton management. What we do best is play football, however our worst trait this season has been finding the back of the net at crucial times in games and this was no execption - goals change games as the saying goes. The first goal came from a corner after only a minute which was disappointing given the fact that the last words spoken by myself prior to kick off was 'somebody needs to take control at corners and ensure everyone is organised'. Anyway from that point the half was edged by ourselves with glorious chances spurned by firstly Josh Lindsay and then Woody, what was more pleasing was the football we played. Elliot was again commanding at the back, with Josh, Aaron and Jake all contributing to passing the ball around and building from the back. Kieran and Danny had the beating of their markers, Sam held the midfield which allowed Brocky (having his best game for a while) the freedon of the midfield. The game wasn't all going our way as Monton pressed us back at times, turning our defence round and a couple of scary moments had to be seen through with Josh on one occasion being winded in the process. For all the hard work and the willingness to play the football we found ourselves 2 goals down on the stroke of half time which was frustrating given the football we had played, but Monton are a good side who came to play football and if you take your chances.....etc. Half Time Monton 2 v 3D Dynamos 0 The 2nd half was similiar to the first with another quick goal conceded on 38 minutes, then the game was evenly played out possession wise. Another goal on 51 minutes following a fantastic run from the Monton number 9 (amazing talent) made the game safe. Could we hold our nerve, not collapse and maybe even dominate the remaining 19 minutes....YES, YES and YES. Chances came and went in the half (at both ends), however 2 minutes after conceding the 4th we got on the scoresheet, Kieran fired in a shot from the edge of the area which the keeper could only parry and Woody was on hand to get us on the scoresheet - his 3rd in 3 weeks. Brocky had the best of the remaining chances, but cut back onto his left foot with the goal at his mercy on his right foot and was caught by the covering defender. A succesion of corners couldn't be converted and as I have said earlier goals change games and we are not converting at the right rate - what we are doing though over the last few weeks is (although anyone loooking at the scores will wonder if i'm on drugs) we are beating or matching teams possesion wise and creating chances which shows that we can do it. Full Time 4 - 1 The game was very well refereed and football was the winner, a good game to watch and coach in as both teams played the game in the right way - physical and fair. Two games to go boys....Elton Sports Club and Monton in the return fixture. |
Saturday 26 March 2011 - League Seedfield 8 v 2 3D Dynamos Josh Jake Skelly Aaron Elliot Josh Skelly Danny Sam Jack (c) Kieran Josh Lindsay Woody Subs: Harry* Attendance - 32 (18 visiting supporters)
Football loses Directly For all the hard work in the first 25 minutes and the football played by 3D's, outwitting their opponents and nullifying the direct approach played by Seedfield we still found ourselves a goal down. The goal followed a rare mistake by Aaron who let the uneven surface beat him on the edge of the box and the striker made no mistake. Following that we held our nerve for the next 20 odd minutes and did our best to get the ball out early to the wings with Kieran and Danny supplying the width and then build from that. Chances came and went with the best falling to Josh Lindsay and Aaron. The two chances both came in quick succession following a move down the right, before Danny crossed for Josh ghosting in at the far post who put his shot wide. A shot from Woody moments later following a sweeping move involving 5 players, had been deflected wide for a corner. The resulting corner was floated across by Danny to Aaron at the back post who swung is right foot at the ball, only for it to hit his standing leg and then get cleared by Seedfield - both myself and Aaron had a little laugh at his misfortune. However after 25 minutes the direct approach started to pay dividends as the Dynamos defence had been caught in attack as we chased the equaliser. Goals on 26, 27, 31 and 40 minutes ended the game as a contest and showed the lack of belief at times as heads went down for a 14 minute spell either side of half time.
Half Time Seedfield 4 v 3D Dynamos 0 A quick brief at half time and some words of encouragement saw the yellows go out again and dominate for the next 25 minutes before another collapse in the last 11 minutes which saw 3D's concede 8 for the first time this season. The first 25 minutes we again combated the direct style of Seedfield and were 2 - 1 up in the half. The first on 42 minutes was a penalty which Jack had to score twice following an encroachment and the 2nd followed 5 minutes later when Kieran (now playing in central midfield) put Woody through to volley home from the edge of the box (volley not an overhead kick - Ronaldo). Full Time 2 - 6 For all my comments on the direct approach by Seedfield they did have 3 players who were very comfortable on the ball and played some really good football. The 3rd goal they scored was a tremendous effort following some good approach play. The ball was played into the striker on the edge of the box and when he stepped over the ball the winger was left unmarked as our defence looked on having been completely bamboozled. For the Dynamos there were some good performances out there especially Sam who was excellent until flagging towards the end, Elliot who coped very well at centre half (probably had headache following the number of headers he put in) and Danny who was a constant threat down the right hand side. Football has to be the winner and the way forward, but well done to Seedfield who scored 8 and that takes some doing. |
Saturday 19 March 2011 - League 3D Dynamos 2 v 6 Elton Sports Club Jacob Jimbo Ashy Joe Jack (c) Kieran Josh Lindsay Woody Subs: Will Revill, Sam Thorpe, Harry Beevor, Josh Leah Attendance - 38 (16 visiting supporters)
Creating Chances and Playing Football All the hard work put in at training of retaining the ball and playing in the right areas is starting to pay off, although the tendency to overpass especially in front of goal isn't helping to get us in front and have something to protect. Should we get in front in a game I suspect that we will go on from that and take something out of it, however at the moment and especially in this game we didn't. The first 15 minutes saw 3D's pass the ball around from the back with some good interplay from Joe who linked defence and attack, with Elton starved of the ball we had 2 or 3 chances to shoot but chose a pass on the edge of the box and then after some hesitancy from Jacob the opening goal came. 1 - 0 down on 17 minutes with the first Elton shot in the game, 7 minutes later and a misplaced header from Brocky handed Elton a 2nd and an uphill battle from that point to get anything from the game. Dynamos recomposed themselves and took the game to Elton again, showing a spirit and determination that has returned over the last 3 games, unfortunately and against the run of play we found ourselves picking the ball out of the net again on the stroke of half time. Half Time 3D Dynamos 0 v Elton Sports Club 3 Within 5 minutes of the half time team talk we had conceded another 2 and were 5 - 0 down with 30 minutes to go. The remaining substitutes were sent on and Josh Leah went in goal to replace the injured Jacob with 20 minutes to go. We continued to push Elton with keep the ball football and got our rewards on 51 and 66 minutes with an Elton goal in between on 54. The first Dynamos goal was a delight with Rev putting in a good cross in to Woody, who volleyed home from 12 yards out, with the 2nd following some good old fashioned wing play as Brocky beat his man twice before pulling the ball back to Rev on the 6 yard box who made no mistake. Full Time 2 - 6 Possession and the football is good in patches of the game, but we have to work harder as a team when we don't have the ball. The biggest compliment of the day came from the Elton manager who said that football wise we had been better over the course of the game and that he couldn't believe his luck in being 3 up at half time. Saturday 12 March 2011 - League Whitworth Valley 2 v 0 3D
Dynamos Jake Skelly Danny Josh Skelly Jimbo Ashy Sam Jack (c) Kieran Will Woody Subs Attendance - 21 (14 visiting supporters)
Match Report 3D Delight in The Valley With only 12 players available due to injury and schools football - I may as well just leave this line in every week at the moment - 3D's continued the battling display that they showed in last weeks game and were unlucky not to get any points at all from this game, but they did come away with pride after a battling, gutsy performance which was only put out of site with 3 minutes to go. A 3 - 5 - 2 formation was seen as the way forward for this game to try and combat Whitworths wide players, with Jimbo and Brocky moving into midfield, it was Danny who dropped into the back three, acting as sweeper and playmaker. The move paid off as 3D's dominated the opening period and kept Whitworth penned in their own half, Woody hitting the crossbar following a superb move which resulted in a good cross from Kieran on the left and after another flowing move Will sent the ball narrowly wide when sent clear by Woody. With Jimbo and Kieran occupying the wingers Jake, Josh and Danny were
being allowed to take the ball from Jacob in goal and play through Brocky,
Ashy and Sam in midfield which was allowing us the possession we haven't
had in a lot of games recently. For all the possession and chances though
a soft free kick was awarded (the player fell over his tangled legs)
on the edge of our box and to make matters worse the indirect free kick
was blasted untouched into the back of the net and allowed to stand?
(the referee did acknowledge this fact at half time), 25 minutes gone
and Whitworth are 1 up with their first chance - frustrating but the
performance was encouraging. With Josh Lindsay replacing Kieran out wide we hoped to catch Whitworth out with a bit more pace, although the possession continued and we pressed forward the goal wouldn't come. Midway through the half tempers flared following a rash challenge by the Whitworth midfielder and the referee took the course of action to send the players from the field of play until everyone had calmed down - both sets of coaching staff did their bit as the last 15 minutes were played out in the spirit as the rest of the game. With the game nearing the end a frantic goalmouth scramble ensued and as try as we might we just couldn't get the ball in the net, in part a lot of credit must go to the Valley players as they put their bodies on the line to protect their lead. With 3 minutes to go Danny was caught in possession following a return pass from Jake and the striker made no mistake from the edge of the area - playing football from the keeper is how the game should be played and we will continue to persevere with this. Full Time 2 - 0 A fantastic team effort from all the boys today, with football now coming from back to front coupled with the passion shown and we can continue on our upward curve of playing football and not giving in. Can't leave today without mentioning Brocky who made his 75th appearance for the team at 11 a side - well done Jack. |
Saturday 5 March 2011 - League Little Lever 4 v 2 3D
Dynamos Jimbo Fraser Jack B (c) Josh Skelly Will Harry Joe Elliot Kieran Woody Subs: Josh Leah Attendance - 35 (19 visiting supporters)
Match Report Dynamos sunk by 2 late strikes With only 12 players available due to injury and schools football - one coming from a team building night out ten pin bowling - we were down to the bones for the longest away trip of the season. Following a good week on the training ground and at the bowling we went in good spirits and a determination to improve our performances from this point on. A gritty display with some good individual performances from some players who showed that they didn't want the season to drift away with a whimper and although the result didn't go our way we had shown something to work with. The first half wasn't the best with Little Lever flying out of the traps and going all out to get goals. We somehow managed to keep Little Lever at bay until 15 minutes when a corner was floated across and headed in to the back of the net unchallenged - this is a major problem for us at the minute as we are continually conceding from crosses? When we did have the ball we occasionally tried to play the ball out which worked and at other times panic set in and the ball was launched up the field, which didn't work. With Woody as a lone front man the boys needed to play it out and then support him as fast as they could, when this happened we were on top and from 5 minutes of constant pressure after the goal we were rewarded for our football with the equaliser. A free kick was awarded on the left of the box about 30 yards out, Brocky crossed the ball into the 6 yard box and Rev who had run around the back of his marker got there before keeper and scored. The celebrations had only just concluded when a quick throw from Little Lever and the striker hit a thunderbolt from just outside the box to restore the lead. Half Time Little Lever 2 v 3D Dynamos 1 Could we claw ourselves back into the game and not concede as in previous week - the answer YES and NO. Midway through the half after some constant 3D pressure the equaliser finally came and was well deserved as the goalscorer became provider for the provider - Rev put the corner in and Brocky headed home from 8 yards out. If team spirit and togetherness was in doubt then a look at the pitch certainly removed the doubt as every outfield player joined the celebration. It wasn't top be despite giving it a go as the Little Lever striker claimed his hat trick with another 2 wonder strikes on 61 and 63 minutes. Full Time 4 - 2 Jacob in goal pulled of some fine saves and at times in the first half kept us in the game, Woody up front did his best and chased everything, as I have said earlier when you play in the formation we did the midfield and defence need to support the front man quickly and get the ball to his feet and not in the air at him. Good spirit and a better 2nd half performance, roll on next week. Keep The Faith |
Saturday 19 February 2011 - League 3D Dynamos 0 v 4 Middleton Boys Green Jacob Jimbo Aaron Jake Josh Skelly Harry Woody Elliot Jack B (c) Danny Josh Lindsay Subs: Josh Leah, Kieran Attendance - 24 (12 visiting supporters)
Middleton Sing In The Rain Another fantastic effort in the first half, despite going in 1 - 0 down the Dynamos could have been 2 or maybe 3 - 1 to the good at the whistle. We didn't get off to a flyer as the Middleton speedy, strong striker found the back of the net with a superb lob over Jacob from 25 yards on 5 minutes. We got the feeling that he was a cut above and adjusted immediately with Jake going man to man and Aaron sweeping up around him and this worked to good effect as we snuffed him out for much of the first half. The game was tough as the torrential overnight rain had given the head groundsmen a lot of work to do to get the game on and the pitch was extremely heavy, having said all that on 20 minutes Jack on his return to team danced round 2 players and curled the ball around the keeper from a tight angle, only to see the ball go agonisingly past the far post. The next chance came from a corner from the left as Danny's in-swinger was somehow missed by both Jack and Josh Lindsay before going out for a dead ball, Elliot then had a shot blocked from the edge of the area before another shot crashed against the post. It wasn't to be and despite a gutsy 1st half performance we were 1 - 0 down. Half Time 0 - 1 The half time team talk was to keep up the good work from the 1st half and concentrate as individuals and hopefully a bit of luck would go our way. Quite the opposite happened though as individuals appeared to freeze as soon as they crossed the line and within 9 2nd half minutes the game was over with Middleton taking 2 goals and a 3 - 0 lead, they then added another on 57 minutes to compound what is becoming a regular occurrence in the 2nd half. Middleton were good value and despite stopping their striker in the first half he managed to get another 3 in the 2nd half. I also can't let the report go without a big mention to Jacob who pulled of some good saves during the game but none better than one late on in the 2nd half as he flung himself at a shot from point blank range to tip it over the bar. Full Time 0 - 4 Team Spirit, which brings togetherness on the field is missing at the minute and players are trying to turn the game as individuals and not as a team. This in turn is ensuring possession is quickly lost to the opposition, however this isn't the case at training with pass after pass completed and patience the key. A quick chat at the end of the game was frank and honest with the players left to go and home and have a think about how they as individuals they can improve their game, their little teams game and the wider team game as we need to get back to playing on the football pitch how we play in training. Keep The Faith |
Saturday 12 February 2011 - League 3D Dynamos 2 v 4 Whitworth Valley Jacob Jimbo Aaron Jack W Sam Josh Skelly Rev Joe Elliot Danny(C) Jake Subs: Ashy, Josh Leah, Josh Lindsay, Fraser, Kieran Attendance - 31 (14 visiting supporters)
Match Report Whitworth win the Basement Battle We somehow have to get over the nerves and mindset that drives through the team once the opposition get on top, victory was very achievable today but yet again 3 goals in 13 minutes saw Whitworth turn the game upside down after the Dynamos looked comfortable. A good first half on 20 mins saw Whitworth take the lead after a good 5 minute spell of pressure, however it was a defensive lapse that let them in. Prior to that 3D looked comfortable on the ball without creating chances whilst Whitworth battled hard and got the ball out wide at every opportunity. Once a goal down we started to threaten the goal and the equaliser came on 24 minutes when Danny played Rev in down the left channel and the rest was made all by Rev himself - he skipped past 3 defenders on the by line and every time he looked to play in Danny and Jake who had backed off into space, however everything opened up for Will and he slammed it past the stranded keeper - SUPERB! The 2nd goal came a minute before half time as Danny floated over a free kick, Jake Skelly flicked it on and Rev again provided the finishing touch, just before that Danny hit the bar from 25 yards out and at half time we were good value for the lead. Half Time 2 - 1 Full Time 2 - 4 I can't leave this without a mention for Rev who had by far and away his best game and scored the goal of the season so far - well done Will and keep it up. Keep Smiling |
5th February 2011 Bury Amateurs 7 v 1 3D Dynamos Jacob Danny(C) Kieran Subs: Rev, Josh Leah, Josh Lindsay Attendance - 36 (18 visiting supporters)
Match Report Dynamos Delight in the Downpour Despite the scoreline this was one of our better displays for a while, with the execption of a 13 minute period where we shipped 5 goals!!!! A goal down after after 8 minutes from a corner meant we had an uphill battle and the new formation and character of the team would now be tested to the full, however we battled away and kept to the game plan of pushing up and closing down the spaces. The football was good and the best move of the game came 2 minutes before we conceded a 2nd - Jimbo started the move at right back and 8 passes later via Jake, Joe, Woody, Kieran, Ashy, Joe, Danny and then to Woody who had a shot which went narrowly wide. Overall the first half was very pleasing and something to build on. Half Time 0 - 2 The last 11 minutes saw the boys compose themselves and see the game out without anymore scares. Full Time 1 - 7 Keep The Faith |
Saturday 15 January 2010 - League 3D Dynamos 1 v 7 Radcliffe Juniors Jacob Jimbo Jake Aaron Josh Rev Ashy Jack(C) Kieran Danny Woody Subs Harry, Sam, Josh Lindsay Attendance - 21 (11 visiting supporters)
Match Report Dynamos undone by Radcliffe Rout 3D's got off to a fantastic start in a game that would see Radcliffe runaway with the game and leave the blues empty handed again. From the kick off the ball landed at Josh Skelly's feet on the edge of our box and a long through ball to Danny was put in the back of the Radcliffe net superbly - BRILLIANT, a minute gone and we are one up. Four minutes later and a corner saw Ashy blaze over from 6 yards when it looked easier to score, Danny was then sent clear again on 14 minutes only this time he scuffed his shot and it went wide. This seemed to wake up the Radcliffe boys and they got a foothold in the game and started to venture past the half way line imposing themselves on the Dynamos defence, the pressure finally told on 20 minutes as Radcliffe drew level after some kamikaze defending. Five minutes later we were behind as the big Radcliffe midfielder was allowed a free header from a corner, from the resulting kick off we managed to give the ball straight back to Radcliffe and it became 3 - 1. After this Rev had 2 efforts blocked and Woody put Kieran away twice only to see one shot blocked and one wide, Danny and Woody both had a chance each but it wasn't to be and although possession wise we shaded the half the scoreline didn't. Half Time 1 - 3 The 2nd half saw 3Ds with chances towards the end of the game and the substitutes getting on the field early in the half, however it was individual mistakes which cost us through the half and goals on 44, 50, 52 and 69 gave Radcliffe the deserved victory. Full Time 1 - 2 A wet and bitterly windy day saw 3D play very well for 20 minutes and could have been 3 up before going down in a disappointing manner. The boys have to believe in themselves and the team and if we cut out the individual mistakes and work more as a team then as BOB THE BUILDER SAYS ' Yes we Can' fix the problem. Come on 3D's you can do it - Just believe. A special mention to Harry today who made his 50th appearance for the team at 11 a side and joins the Bronze Club. Keep The Faith |
Saturday 20 November 2010 - League Brandlesholme Warriors 2 v 1 3D Dynamos Jacob Jimbo Jake Josh Sam Harry Woody Ashy Jack Brock (C) Danny Rev Subs: Elliot, Fraser, Josh Lindsay Attendance - 35 (19 visiting supporters)
Dynamos gunned down by the Warriors Another league defeat for the Dynamos who have yet to taste victory since the opening day of the season and that was against today's opposition. How we didn't win is something that only the team can answer, as possession and chances wise we absolutely dominated it and if it had been a boxing match would have been stopped. However the story of the day was that whilst the football was good, passes found team mates and we got the ball in the right places we either tried to walk the ball into the net or our shots were about as much use as a chocolate fireguard or an ashtray on a motorbike - I think you get the idea. The opening goal came after 8 minutes when the pacey winger went down the wing, before cutting across for goal and placing the ball past our debutant keeper (Jacob) who could do nothing about it, after that it was all one way and despite hitting the post twice we couldn't trouble the keeper. Half Time 0 - 1 The 2nd half performance was even better, unfortunately we still tried to walk the ball in, then out of the blue totally against the run of play came the 2nd Brandlesholme goal on 58 minutes, which proved to be the winner - the attackers rode their luck with an offside decision, but the finish couldn't be faulted. This kick started us to play even better and with 12 minutes to go we still had a chance with shots now being taken at the right time we peppered the keeper with shots, some he saved, another 2 hit the post before Fraser cracked one against the crossbar which bounced down and out. We finally got on the score sheet with 2 minutes of the 70 to go, Rev pushed the ball through to Woody who put the ball in the corner. The remaining 2 minutes plus 4 minutes injury time were spent in the Brandlesholme box, but it wasn't to be. Full Time 1 - 2 A fantastic performance from all the players with only goals missing to cap it all off - shooting practice will take place on Monday at training and I'm definitely positive that if we keep the faith we will get the results that the performances crave. Keep Smiling Steve and Neil |
Saturday 13 November 2010 - Cup Middleton Boys Blue 4 v 0 3D Dynamos Bradley Sam Jake Jack Ward Josh S Fraser Elliot Woody Ashy Jack Brock (C) Danny Subs: Josh Leah, Harry, Josh Lindsay, Sam, Will Attendance - 52 (33 visiting supporters) Heads held high after good performance Premier league opposition Middleton ran out 4 - 0 winners despite an encouraging performance from the Dynamos. An evenly balanced first half saw Dynamos match their premier league opposition all over the park and it was difficult to tell who was the higher placed team at times, however the quality of the finishing was the difference. The first real chance of the half fell to Danny who broke through two tackles and found himself with only the keeper to beat and somehow shot wide when it seemed easier to score, Middleton then had 2 chances with Brads saving superbly for the first one, however he was unable to help on the 2nd chance as the striker evaded Jack Wards challenges on 23 minutes. Dynamos then let themselves down for the 2nd as a Middleton midfielder was allowed a free shot from the edge of the area - both the team talk pre match and the training session from the Monday were all about closing down quickly - the defence scrambled the ball clear with Jake having the last strike, but the midfield had switched off and we were made to pay right on the stroke of half time when the shot screamed into the back of the net. Half Time 0 - 2 The 2nd half performance didn't match the 1st half and we found ourselves 4 down after 49 minutes, Middleton Boys passed the ball around well and we didn't match the effort and desire shown earlier in the game. We still had our moments though and for a bit of luck could have scored a couple more - Rev dragged a shot wide after he had done the hard work by breaking through the defence and then his honesty cost him a penalty, he had his ankle clipped when on a mazey run but kept going and eventually lost control of the ball. We also had another big penalty appeal turned away and a couple of good chances go wide. Full Time 0 - 4 All in all we fared well today against a good Middleton Boys side who currently lie 3rd in the premier league and with all 16 players getting some action we gave it a good go - if we play like we did in the first half I'm sure our league form will pick up soon. Saturday 23 October 2010 - League Radcliffe 4 v 0 3D Dynamos Bradley Sam Jake Josh S Harry Josh Lindsay Ashy Jimbo Elliot Woody Danny Subs Josh Leah,Fraser, Will Attendance - 48 (21 visiting supporters) Disappointing Dynamos Well Below Par A very lack lustre team performance from 3Ds enabled Radcliffe to run out easy winners and the 4 goals flattered us. Although the team didn't perform there were some good individual performances, but as the saying goes "A player cannot win anything on his own. It is essential that the whole team does its work, otherwise success does not happen." proved to be true. Full Time 0 - 4 Back to basics boys - lets get back to winning ways and good performances ASAP. Keep The Faith Steve and Neil |
Saturday 16 October 2010 - Cup 3D Dynamos 1 v 1 Seedfield Polytec (3D Won 3 - 1 on penalties) Bradley Sam Jake Josh S Harry Rev Ashy Jack (C) Woody Danny Josh Lindsay Subs
Attendance - 43 (19 visiting supporters)
Match Report Dynamos Delight in Penalty Shoot out With Jimbo on holiday with school, Fraser and Elliot on Duke of Edinburgh duty the blues were down to 12 players for the 1st round cup tie with Seedfield Polytec at Clayton. The team lined up with a 4 - 4 - 2 formation, but switched back to our favoured 4 - 5- 1 system after 20 minutes. It was at this point we took control of the first half and dominated proceedings without creating any clear cut chances, the three times we broke the midfield, the keeper proved to be a thorn in our side with good saves. Seedfield for their part battled hard in midfield and had a couple of shots from distance to keep us on our toes.
Half Time 0 - 0 At half time we talked about speeding up play, closing down faster and working the full backs more - the lads were really up for the 2nd half and went out full of determination. On 39 minutes the determination on all our players was ramped up another notch as Seedfield took the lead. A slip by Brads let the attacker in behind him, he was forced wide of the goal and could only pass the ball back across the face of goal, Jake who had got around Brads and was on the goal line watched the ball go across him before clearing the ball upfield - what a relief - not according to the referee who gave a goal!!!! It was like being an England fan (against Germany) all over again. 3D really got the bit between their teeth, Jack, Ashy and Woody were providing good service to Josh and Rev on the wings and Danny up front. I don't know what more Rev could have done to score yesterday, the keeper saved two, he hit the post with another and then missed a penalty with 15 minutes to go, Woody saw one sail over and the keeper hang on to 2 other long range efforts. We seemed destined not to score until a bit of geinus from Josh Lindsay saw him slip the ball through to Woody who took one touch before slamming the ball into the roof of the net after 60 minutes - the goal celebration sparked scenes of joy with players, management and the suffering fans all relieved that we had finally done it. 10 minutes left and could we do it was the question, Seedfield appeared to self destruct at this point, tormentor in chief Danny was cruelly chopped down on the edge of the box - a straight red was the referee's decision, 4 minutes saw another player hack Danny down - a yellow card this time. Dynamos tried everything in the last 10 minutes and then the 14 minutes of extra time but couldn't muster a winner. The 10 Seedfield players defended as though their lives depended on it and deserved their chance in the penalty shoot out. Full Time 1 - 1 (3 - 1 on penalties) Brads became the hero in the shoot out as Seedfield only managed 1 goal out of their 4 penalties - Bradley saving 2 with one hitting the bar, Jack, Woody and Danny all converted with Rev and Jake waiting in the wings. All 5 defenders played their part today and deserve a special mention, Josh and Jake played well together at the back reading each other well, Harry and then Josh held the left back positions and had good games, but the star of the show was Sam at right back who had his best game since joining the club - he was up against one of the biggest players on the pitch and hardly gave him a kick - keep it up Mr Thorpe. A pulsating game of football which had everything today, a goal that wasn't, a red card, a keeper in inspired form and a penalty shoot out - a real cup tie.

Saturday 9 October 2010 - League Middleton Boys 3 v 2 3D Dynamos Bradley Jimbo Fraser Josh S Harry Jake Ashy Jack (C) Woody Danny Will Subs
Attendance - 38 (22 visiting supporters)
Match Report Away day Blues for the Dynamos After promising to be more adventurous the Dynamos lined up in a 4 - 4 - 2 formation with Jack and Jake moving into midfield, Josh and Fraser making the new centre half pairing and Rev partnering Danny up front. Fast, energetic football was asked of the boys and they didn't fail to deliver as Jack and Ashy battled for everything in the centre of midfield, however it was Middleton who had the chances in the first 15 minutes with 3Ds new partnerships all over the pitch getting used to each other. Josh and Fraser took 10 minutes and then looked like the finished article, Rev and Danny got going eventually after being starved of possession in the early stages. Twenty two minutes in and Middleton had the lead after Dynamos failed to clear the ball properly, it pinged around the box a couple of times before a good strike beat Brads to his right - 2 minutes prior to that we had switched back to 4 - 5 - 1 and now we were behind - that got us going and some good football prevailed as we turned the game around. First on 25 minutes saw Danny jink down the wing before crossing for Jake to slam home for his first of the season, then a minute later Danny was brought down on the edge of the area - he picked himself up and floated over the free kick for Fraser to open up his goal scoring account for us.
Half Time 1 - 2 The 2nd half saw Sam replace Rev and go in the centre of midfield with Woody going out to the right wing, the game was even with both sides attacking and defending well - the wing picked up in the 2nd half which helped 3Ds as Middleton overhit passes which Harry and Jimbo were happy to leave for Brads. It was Middleton who found the net again and 2 goals in 4 minutes (49 and 53) eventually won the game for them and left us empty handed for the 2nd week running. It wasn't for trying as we went in search of the equaliser, even having a goal ruled out for a foul - Danny floated over a free kick which Jack was running onto until he was tripped, he fell over a defender (the foul???) and then Rev scored, Danny was then harshly penalised when beating the last man to the ball. It just wasn't meant to be but I'm sure we will get there - we are always involved in close games and I'm sure we will start to get the results soon. Full Time 3 - 2 Fraser was outstanding today with Josh Skelly not far behind, Ashy shone again in midfield and Danny is looking better each week so we have nothing to worry about. Saturday 2 October 2010 - League 3D Dynamos 1 v 3 Little Lever Bradley Sam Fraser Jack (C) Josh S Will Elliot Ashy Woody Josh L Danny Subs: Josh Leah, Jimbo
Attendance - 53 (19 visiting supporters)
2nd half recovery secures points for Little Lever An even first half saw Dynamos come in 1 to the good after Woody sent Danny through on goal with 28 minutes gone, unfortunately for Danny he injured himself in the process and had to be replaced by Jimbo. Both sides had chances in front of goal and with some cooler finishing could have done. Dynamos also had Sam to thank for clearing one off the line and Bradley for a couple of fantastic saves; one was superb as he was at full stretch diving to his right and held onto the ball. Rev then had a chance to make it 2 nil just before half time but a last ditch tackle saved the day for Little Lever. Half Time 1 - 0 The 2nd half belonged to Little Lever on the scoring front and they got the reward for never giving up, driving forward at every opportunity to take home the 3 points. Two goals in 3 minutes on 55 and 58 turned the game on its head and left Dynamos chasing the game that they once had within their grasp, Sam and Josh Leah made way for Ashy and Josh Lindsay as we went after the game with a 3 - 5- 2 formation, this probably produced some of our best football as we pressed Little Lever and had a good 10 minute spell before the killer goal came with 2 minutes to go. Prior to the equaliser Woody saw a shot sail just over the bar, Danny slid one past the keeper only to see it skim the post and Woody again had the keeper back pedalling to catch a lofted shot. Full Time 1 - 3 Little Lever edged the game and on balance probalby deserved it, we have to be more combative in midfield and get the ball down and play fast football - we are only a small team and have to utilise what we are best at. Lessons learned from today is for Neil and myself - STOP BEING DEFENSIVE. Keep smiling and we will get there. Steve and Neil |
Saturday 25 September 2010 - League 3D Dynamos 0 Bury Amateurs 2 Bradley Jimbo Jake Jack (C) Harry Max Fraser Elliot Will Ashy Danny Subs: Josh Leah, Josh L, Josh S, Sam, Woody
Attendance - 84 (36 visiting supporters)
Match Report Bury Amateurs provided the toughest test to date this season and ran out 2 - 0 winners in an evenly balanced contest which anyone could have won. The first half saw chances for both sides with both defences holding strong and both keepers in fine form. With the majority of the play in midfield Elliot and Fraser had the task of trying to stop someone who insisted in battling for every ball and driving Bury forward, a real midfield battle ensued in the first half as both sides tried to get a foothold on the game. A 10 minute spell of complete 3D pressure towards the end of ther first half was the time to score and make it count, but even after flurry of corners we failed to find the back of the net, prior to that Bury had found Bradley in tremendouse form keeping out a couple of long range efforts. Half Time 0 - 0 The 2nd half was played in the same spirit as the first half with both sides having spells of pressure. The difference on the day was that Bury got the opening goal (53 minutes), which meant the Dynamos having to chase an equaliser, the 2nd goal came through a fantastic diving header from a corner with 5 minutes remaining. Full Time 0 - 2 A good effort and a valuable lesson that you have to use whichever foot the ball lands at when clean through on goal, that was our big chance to go 1 - 0 up in a close game.. Keep The Faith Steve and Neil |
Saturday 18 September 2010 - League 3D Dynamos 1 Seedfield Stanians 1 Bradley Jimbo Jake Jack (C) Josh S Josh L Ashy Sam Woody Will Danny Subs: Josh Leah, Elliot, Fraser, Max, Harry
Attendance - 69 (28 visiting supporters) Match Report Despite the glum faces at the end we had to remind the boys that we didn't lose and more importantly we didn't stop trying to play football. An early goal after 8 minutes was nothing more than we deserved as Woody found Josh who put the ball in the back of the net for the 2nd week running - I think he had about 5 attempts before.finally getting enough on it to score though. The good football continued and after a good flowing move we scored again only to have it chalked of for offside, Woody and Josh Lindsay both went close again and Danny was again thwarted by a close offside decision. Seedfield did get into the game after 20 minutes without really threatening to score and put us under some pressure towards the end of the half with the number 10 causing most problems. Half Time 1 - 0 The half time team talk was that we needed another goal and to keep playing as in the first half. Dynamos dominated the opening exchanges with chances being created, but not finished. Fraser and Max could have scored when well placed, Woody hit one over the bar, Jack hit the post from a penalty - which went straight back into the keepers arms. The chance of the half fell to Danny who capitalised on a misunderstanding with the centre half and keeper - both left it for each other- twenty five yards out and an open goal, surely 2 - 0, but not to be as he somehow put it wide. Seedfield found an extra gear and went for 3D's in the last 15 minutes, finally getting their equaliser with four minutes to go. The 3D defence had held firm until then with Brads covering anything they missed, pulling of a couple of good saves to keep the score at 1 - 0. Full Time 1 - 1 Another good performance from everyone today with a valuable lesson learnt - if you don't put your chances away you could get punished. Still unbeaten and top of the league boys. Saturday 11 September 2010 - League 3D Dynamos 6 Brandlesholme Warriors 3 Bradley Jimbo Jake Jack (C) Josh S Josh L Ashy Sam Woody Will Danny Subs:Josh Leah, Max, Harry
Attendance - 63 (26 visiting
supporters) Match Report 3D Dynamos in shock opening day victory - this is the first time in 4 attempts that we have started the season with a win. New beginnings for the Dynamos with a change of pitch, league and kit colour and no idea of the opposition and how they would play. Clayton is now home and if we get results and performances like today then Churchill will become a distant memory. As usual we got off to our slow sluggish start and the season looked in tatters as we went 2 nil down with goals after 2 and 10 minutes. We responded well from this and started to impose ourselves on the game with some good pass and move stuff, our efforts were finally rewarded with a goal on 25 minutes after Ashy found Josh Lindsay who cooly slotted home. Half Time 1 - 2 3Ds continued were they had left off with Woody driving the midfield forwards in search of an equaliser, however the game changed in our favour on 43 minutes when Brandlesholme were reduced to 10 players, having said that 6 minutes later we found ourselves 3 - 1 down and facing an uphill struggle with 21 minutes remaining. What happened next was unbelievable, we changed our formation to 3 -5 - 2 with Brocky in midfield and went in search of goals. Brocky was tremendous, inspired his teammates and stunned the faithful with an awesome individual display and lead the team to a deserved victory. First up with the goals was Rev on 56 minutes before Captain Fantastic found the net twice in 3 minutes to draw the team level and then put us in front, goals from Rev and Danny finished off the scoring. A good performance and winning start now leaves Elliot and Fraser who were missing today the task of getting into the team. Debut boys Max and Rev both had good reason to be happy, with Rev getting on the scoresheet twice, plus setting up Brocky for his 2nd whilst Max played Danny in for his goal. Full Time 6 - 3 Keep Smiling Steve and Neil |
Monday 6 September 2010 - Friendly 3D Dynamos (Sun) 3 3D Dynamos (Sat) 1 Bradley Jimbo Jake Jack (C) Josh S Woody Elliot Ashy Fraser Will Danny Subs: Josh L, Max, Harry, Sam Goal Assist Time A good entertaining derby to finish our 4 friendly campaign, played in the wind, rain and at the end of the game - darkness. With the Sunday team playing with the wind in the first half - to good effect - some fast paced good football played through their midfield caused us no end of problems. At times we struggled to cope with the sheers pace and couldn't clear our lines, when we did have the ball we put to good use our training sessions and got the ball out wide and it was from this we went 1 up with Woody sending over a cross from the right for Danny to slot home. The equaliser was deserved and came after 15 minutes as the Sunday boys dominated the half. The 2nd half was more even as the wind dropped and the darkness fell, both teams carved out some good opportunities and produced some good open football. Alas it was the Sundays boys who got two goals in the last 10 minutes whilst we hit the bar twice - one coming after the move of the game as Woody sent Josh down the right and with a first time cross found Danny with a diving header and other from Woody. 2 wins and 2 defeats in our 4 friendlies is a good start for our new team, plus all the hard work in training to get the team to gel and produce good football is coming together.
Keep The Faith and enjoy the season Steve and Neil |
Saturday 4 September 2010 - Friendly Medlock 2 3D Dynamos 1 Bradley Sam Jake Jack (C) Josh S Josh L Elliot Ashy Harry Will Danny Subs: Woody, Max, Fraser, Josh Leah Goal Assist Time Not at our best today in the first half and a good reminder to the boys that you can't just turn up to a game expecting the flowing football to happen. A chat at half time helped and the football was better in the 2nd half without hitting the heights of the previous 2 games. Injuries to Jake, Max and Danny meant a lot of disruption and lead to Fraser playing at the back, which he did reluctantly but performed like an established centre half - winning him the Man of the Match. One more friendly on Monday against 3D Dynamos Sunday team on The Shambles and then its the real thing. Keep The Faith Steve and Neil |
Tuesday 31 August 2010 - Friendly Crompton Villa 0 3D Dynamos 1 Bradley Josh Leah Jake Jack (C) Josh S Josh L Elliot Ashy Fraser Woody Danny Subs: Elliot, Max Goal Assist Time Another good performance was produced by the boys in blue with Woody the ex Villain scoring what proved to be the winner against a well organised Crompton side. Four changes to the team from Saturday was forced upon us due to holidays and injuries, but the football was still the same as we continued to keep the ball on the ground and play from the back. More of the same please for Saturday Keep Smiling Steve and Neil |
Saturday 28 August - Friendly 3D Dynamos 5 Seedfield 3 Josh Leah Jimbo Jake Jack (C) Josh S Josh L Sam Ashy Harry Woody Danny Sub: Will Scorer Assist Time A superb performance from the boys that even had the fans wondering where the champagne football had come from. All 12 players rolled out the work that we had been doing during the pre season saturday morning sessions. Pride, passion and everyone wanting a touch of the football was very pleasing for myself and Neil - at least we know they listened. Lets not get carried away though - we now need to keep working and take this into the remaining 3 friendlies and then onto the real stuff of league and cup football. Keep the Faith |
