Saturday 21 January 2012 - North Bury League – League 3D Dynamos 6 v 2 Chadderton
Park Jimbo Aaron Elliot Kieran Joe Woody Subs
Dynamos Delight on Derby Day By virtue of the close proximity of the 2 pitches this game possibly counts as a local derby of sorts. If that’s the case then this was a good derby day victory which sees the Dynamos go top of the league. We changed the formation to try and stop the rot of conceding goals in the first few minutes of each half and therefore give us a chance of getting something out of games without having to get at least 3 goals. Twelve minutes in and we found ourselves 2 – 0 down – not exactly the plan!! Allowing for the fact that we were against the strong driving wind we fully deserved to be 2 down and Chadderton Park had the advantage and looked like they could score again with a couple of big chances came there way after the 2 goals; luckily for us they passed without troubling Jacob who had been helpless for both goals. On 18 minutes came a lifeline has Brocky swung
a corner straight in following excellent work from Chaddy who had chased a lost cause
and forced the defender into a mistake. Then on 37 minutes Joe
played a ball to Woody on the edge of the box who volleyed home the equaliser, meaning
we had managed to negate the driving wind and set ourselves up for the
2nd half with the wind in our favour. Half Time The boys were sent with the message that this was there’s for the taking, but only if they played as a team and not as individuals!!!! Famous last words it seems this season as for the next 15 minutes we had no shape, guile and at times looked absolutely clueless and as if we had never met each other before. Then for reasons unknown we looked like the team that had played and trained together on previous occasions and amazingly scored against the run of play, up first saw Joe finding Chaddy to put us 3 – 2 in front. Although now in front and playing something like what the faithful expect it wasn’t until 72 minutes had passed when we troubled the scorer again, this time Fraser providing as Woody got his 2nd of the game and 16th of the season. The best 2 goals of the game then followed as Chadderton Park players heads went down. The 5th of the game was an absolute fantastic goal scored by Danny from the half way line (Danny Beckham), but the football before it made the moment even better. A corner from Chaddy Park was cleared to Woody on the centre circle in our half, he coolly flicked the ball between his legs to Danny who took one touch before attempting the spectacular and in it went much to the delight of the Dynamos Massive and players who all ended up in a big pile on top of the goal scorer. The 6th and final goal of the game followed 3 minutes later when man of the match Elliot created a chance for Chaddy who lobbed the keeper from just outside the box and meant that the score line really did flatter the yellows Full Time Everyone eventually played a part in success we had on the day...but should we really only be playing to our potential for 20 minutes at a time – if we had applied ourselves like we did for the last 20 minutes for the whole game then who knows what we could do? Saturday 26 November 2011 - North Bury League – Main Cup 3D Dynamos 2 v 6 Monton
Amateurs Aaron Elliot Jimbo Lewis Danny Joe Jack
(c) Kieran Subs
Monton meander through to the next round This cup tie was pretty much over after the opening 2 minutes with some of the Dynamos players still finishing the Christmas and New Year break. Despite the uphill battle after that we did get going and at times matched our opponents who are running away with division one. From the kick off Jimbo was caught in possession and before we knew it we were 1 down. From the resulting kick off we were caught in possession again, but this time gave away a free kick 30 yards out. With the wind assisting the striker Jacob was caught ball watching and before the majority of the yellows had touched the ball we found ourselves 2 nil down - this against the runaway leaders of division one. In fairness to Jimbo and Jacob both players made amends with their overall play during the remainder of the game and both played a lot better than the opening 2 minutes. After 2 minutes it looked like a whitewash and humiliation could be on the cards, however after a rallying scream from Elliot the boys got going and tried to impose themselves on the game. For the next 20 minutes we didn’t look as vulnerable, but with Monton playing with a strong wind we only created a couple of chances with the Monton keeper acting as a sweeper. On 31 minutes we found ourselves 3 down, with another strike from 30 yards out – this time the midfield 3 were nowhere to be seen as a 3D move broke down and the Monton goal scorer was left with the freedom of the park.
Half Time Conceding goals just after half time is what we just can’t seem to stop happening this season and today was no different, with Monton effectively wrapped up the game on 42 minutes and going 4 – 0 up. A tactical switch on 50 minutes paid dividends as Woody who had just come back on found Chaddy, who made no mistake in lobbing the keeper for his 17th of the season. Within 2 minutes of scoring Monton had restored their 4 goal advantage and then went further ahead on 61 minutes with a penalty following a mistimed tackle as the Monton man powered into the box. All credit to the Dynamos for the never say die approach as the last 19 minutes belonged to them. The reward for our efforts came on 71 minutes as Lewis got his 1st goal for the club with a volley from 10 yards out. Lewis then had another chance to double his tally following a good ball from Chaddy, however as he rounded the keeper the ball bobbled up and the chance was gone. The next big chance with 5 minutes to go fell to Brocky from the penalty spot - after Chaddy had been hauled down - unfortunately the spot kick went the wrong side of the post.
Full Time It’s tough against teams from higher division and to compete we have to give ourselves a chance – today we didn’t and we were punished for our mistakes, the positives this season are we are scoring goals against all opposition which is a good thing. See you at training Steve |
Saturday 3 December 2011 - North Bury League – Additional Cup Bridge Eagles 6 v 4 3D
Dynamos Aaron Elliot Josh Jimbo Fraser Joe Jack (c) Kieran Woody Chaddy Subs
3Ds become 4Ds - Disastrous Defending Defeats Dynamos The overall defending today and moreso from set pieces meant that despite all our football and dominance for long periods of the game - especially the 2nd half - we were always going to be up against it playing a team from a higher division. The defence have had a lot of praise heaped on them this season with 2 player of the month awards going their way, however as a unit had a bit of a bad day at the office. The game was only 2 minutes old when a corner was allowed to trickle over the line despite Jacob and Kieran being there. Bridge were playing with the wind in the first half and made good use of it and the yellows struggled to get a foothold in the game in the first 10 minutes. A quick switch to 4 - 4 - 2 helped us to combat the conditions and allowed us to get the ball down and start playing our way out of defence. We were rewarded with an equaliser on 14 minutes as Jack sent Woody clear who made no mistake. Lewis came on for his debut to replace the injured Josh and did a good job for the remainder of the half in an unfamiliar position of right full back. With the wind playing a role in the game we wanted to get to half time with the scores level or still very much in the game and despite conceding goals on 27 and 37 we still felt we had a chance in the 2nd half.
Half Time The boys were sent out in the 2nd half back in a 3 - 5 - 2 formation with Lewis pushing into midfield in a more attacking role. Just like the first half a goal within 2 minutes of the start came, this time it was for the D’s as Woody was brought down for a penalty; Brocky sent the keeper the wrong way to reduce the deficit to 1. Three minutes later on 45 minutes Bridge had regained a 2 goal cushion as we went to sleep at another corner. Not a team to give up these days 3D’s ploughed forward, wave after wave of attacks ensued for the remainder of the half and on 52 minutes Woody sent Chaddy clear who finished superbly to get us back within 1 again. Bridge again restored a 2 goal cushion on 59 minutes, but again the boys dug deep and from the restart debut boy Lewis sent Chaddy through to reduce the deficit to 1 again. Twenty one minutes remaining and game on as 3D’s gave it everything; effort, commitment, endeavour were on show as we chased that elusive equaliser. Some resolute defending by Bridge with blocks on the line, a couple of good saves from the keeper and all round good defending meant that 5 minutes to go they still had the advantage. Lewis was sent up front as we ended the game 3 - 4 – 3. As we all know at this point a goal can go either way and unfortunately for us it was Bridge who broke away with the clock ticking down to give them a score line that possibly flattered them. Full Time A very good entertaining game of football was played out in the right spirit this morning with both managers tactics being tested. Woody was man marked (that only happens if you are feared) and we have the players to change formation within games and did. Bridge deserved to win as they scored more goals than we did and took their chances well, although I think we could have done better at defending the basics. We received praise from the opposition manager who stated that we had been the better team overall and to this I couldn’t disagree. Keep The Faith |
Saturday 26 November 2011 - North Bury League – Additional Cup 3D Dynamos 3 v 1 Walshaw
Park Aaron Elliot Josh Ashy Jimbo Fraser Jack
(c) Kieran Chaddy Subs
A Kieran strike sets the Dynamos on fire
For the 3rd time in 4 games these 2 sides locked horns on a cold, windy morning on Clayton, with the Dynamos coming out on top. This time it was the Additional Cup (which is in a league format) that saw the 2 sides draw each other; the game was very similar to the previous one with 3D’s taking a 1 nil lead into the break, Walshaw equalising before the Dynamos taking the game away from their opponents. With only 11 players available (Woody injured and Joe on Tameside duty) we set up in our usual starting formation of 3 - 5 – 2 with Fraser holding the midfield and Danny pushing on to play just in behind Chaddy. For the first 25 minutes Walshaw (with the wind) totally dominated possession, however what they didn’t bank on was the dogged determination from the yellows midfield and a defensive rearguard action that meant only long range efforts were allowed anywhere near Jacob in goal, the one time that they got through us saw the crossbar come to our rescue. A need to get us further up the field saw Jimbo switch to defensive midfield duties and Fraser into a more attacking role; with this we found that we were now more effective with the ball and just as resilient without it. Dynamos were now creating and carving out chances for Danny and Chaddy who now had started to feed on quality balls to them and with Danny looking in the mood to take people on, a decision was made to switch Danny into midfield with Brocky going up front with Chaddy. Those 2 tactical decisions changed the game and from that point I would say (with hindsight) that we were always in control of our own destiny. On 32 minutes we got our reward for tinkering with the team as Brocky caused havoc in the Walshaw defence, a partial clearance only reached Kieran via Brocky who was 20 yards from goal and he hit an absolute screamer into the top corner to take the Dynamos into the lead. Half Time
The boys were buoyant at half time and confident of winning the cup tie, especially as we now had the wind in our favour. With all that in mind we managed to give the ball away from the kick off and Walshaw Park managed a strike at goal which looked to be going wide until an outstretched 3D leg directed it past a helpless Jacob. The boys then showed character as they took the game to Walshaw, Danny was now making the football flow for the yellows with Jimbo, Fraser, Ashy and Kieran ensuring that when we did lose it, we closed down and got the ball back to Danny to get us going again. On 68 minutes we finally found a way through the Walshaw rearguard as Brocky sent Chaddy scampering clear to slide the ball past the keeper. With 12 minutes to go we went to a more solid 4 - 4 - 2 (Jimbo dropped in at full back) as we expected a cavalry charge from our opponents. With Walshaw now throwing everything at us we had to ensure we stayed strong and all do our jobs properly, bodies were put on the line to maintain our advantage. With 5 minutes to go Elliot threw himself into a challenge in our box which resulted in a dead leg for him, following some length treatment we had him back on his feet and ready for action again. Due to this another tactical change was made as we went with 5 at the back with Fraser dropping into defence and Brocky back in midfield leaving Chaddy up front by himself. We looked to be in control as we had men behind the ball and with time running out came the killer goal. A corner from Walshaw Park was cleared out to Danny who found Chaddy with a sublime pass, Chaddy then had half the pitch to run before sliding it past the keeper for his 2nd of the game. Jubilant team mates mobbed each other as the Walshaw Park boys looked around with heads in hands. Full Time An absolute 10 out of 10 performance from every single player on duty today. The training ground defending and attacking that we have done over the last few weeks was all in evidence today, put that with all the tactical changes made during the game and that shows that the boys understand football and can play in the right manner. Although strikers get the headlines the defensive side of our game today needs bigging up as collectively they were massive, Jacob, Jimbo, Elliot, Aaron and Josh deserve a lot of credit for the overall performance as they ensured that we were always in the game and gave us a platform to play from. Saturday 19 November 2011 - North Bury League – League Prestwich Town 1 v 11 3D
Dynamos Aaron Elliot Josh Ashy Danny Jimbo Jack
(c) Kieran Subs: Fraser
Dynamos Demolition Derby A return to league action saw 3Ds make the trip up to Prestwich Town to meet the opposition for the first time, it was also a chance to make up ground up on the top 2 in the league who were in cup action. The game was only 30 seconds old when Chaddy squared the ball to Woody on the edge of the box to put us 1 to the good. The next 20 minutes saw the game battled out in the mud as both sides tried to come to terms with the pitch, both teams had chances before a corner from Danny found Elliot who made no mistake with a free header. Prestwich then had another go and got themselves a penalty which was despatched in to Jacob’s left hand corner despite him getting a hand to it. The final goal of the half saw Elliot notch his 2nd of the game following a goal mouth scramble with Fraser providing the assist.
Half Time The 2nd half saw the yellows totally dominate proceedings and 3 goals in 2 minutes killed the game as a contest. First up on 47 minutes saw Woody score following good work from Danny, Brocky then slid Chaddy in and on 48 minutes Brocky score with Woody assisting. More was to follow as Josh scored his first for
the club with a 1 yard screamer - Chaddy providing the assist, before
Danny finally got on the score sheet with the goal of the game on 73
minutes. Ashy then
had a quick fire double on 74 and 76 minutes before Aaron wrapped up
the scoring with the last kick of the game before celebrating like he
had scored the winning goal in a World Cup final Good to see everyone smiling today, however what was more important was the way we tried to play the ball around despite the mud bath of a pitch (just like the olden days!!!). The 11 goals is a team record and 7 different scorers in one match is some achievement and one which you should be proud to have be part of. I can’t go without mentioning Jimbo today who was tremendous in the centre of midfield and his determination to win every ball allowed us the platform to play football and score the goals.

Saturday 12 November 2011 - North Bury League – League Cup 3D Dynamos 3 v 1 Walshaw
Park Aaron Elliot Fraser Jimbo Danny Joe
Shaw Jack
(c) Kieran Subs
Dynamos Delight in the Cup Cup action returned to Clayton and a back to back game with Walshaw who had won 4 – 0 two weeks earlier, but with Dynamos at full strength and a full squad confidence was high that we could make the last 16. The boys had been told that they had to match Walshaw physically and then let the football take over, the first half was played out exactly as we had said with Walshaw battling for everything and getting the ball forward at every opportunity. To say they dominated the first 30 minutes was an understatement and they were unlucky not to be in front. Jacob came to rescue on several occasions and the crossbar was rattled three times, the problem lay in the fact that our 5 man midfield had all become too defensive and we had no out ball. Tactics were starting to play a part as Jimbo went in defence and Fraser pushed into midfield make the battle against the Walshaw winger equal, this only stemmed the flow temporarily before the decision to switch to 4 - 4 – 2. This was put into place just after the Dynamos goal on one of our rare occasions we got at Walshaw. A quick breakaway saw the ball swing into the box and Chaddy stooped to head the D’s into the lead on 31 minutes. 3D Dynamos 1 v 0 Walshaw Park The decision to switch to 4 – 4 – 2 for the last 10 minutes of the first half paid dividends and the boys were sent out to do the same. The yellows definitely had the edge over their rivals in the 2nd half but it was Walshaw who got an equaliser after 2 second half minutes following some sloppy work in midfield. Sam entered the fray to replace Jimbo and dropped in at left back. 3Ds continued to take the game to Walshaw without really getting into any football rhythm and the ball spent too much time in the air for any football purists that may have been watching. With 10 minutes to go the game looked like it had a draw written all over it and a penalty shoot out looked on the cards, however the boys decided against that and following an excellent passage of play between Brocky and Joe the ball was played out to Kieran who fired goalwards from the edge of the box. The initial shot was blocked but fortunately fell back into his path and he made no mistake from 12 yards, slamming the ball into the back of the net to the delight of players, fans and the coaches. With 6 minutes to go Walshaw had no choice but to commit men forward, with that left gaps at the back with we exploited. On 80 minutes we earned a corner and quick thinking saw the ball played into Woody who flicked it on to Brocky who made no mistake and put the game beyond Walshaw. Into the hat for the last sixteen and a lesson learned from the previous game that if you can match other teams with the physical side of the game then you always have a chance. Despite being under the cosh for most of the first half, tactical changes from the management and a gutsy never say die attitude from the lads meant we prospered without really playing sexy football. Saturday 29 October 2011 - North Bury League 3D Dynamos 0 v 4 Walshaw

Walshaw wallop the below par yellows With Danny and Woody both missing today 3Ds lacked the combative edge to cope with Walshaw Park who are a very big physical side and they deservedly got the result they deserved. The first half was as good as it got for the yellows and they had Jacob and the back 3 to thank for keeping the scoreline down to just 1. The goal itself was somewhat a fluke (although I might to be doing the scorer an injustice), Ashy was caught in possession on the halfway line by the scorer who took a step forward and pumped a big ball into the box, unfortunately and despite Jacob’s best efforts the shot came out of the sky and just under the crossbar. 3D Dynamos 0 v 1 Walshaw Park Walshaw Park dominated the 2nd half and got the other 3 to ensure
the scoreline didn’t flatter us. The 2nd goal though came
from another 3D mistake with Fraser not clearing properly from a long
throw in, the 3rd and 4th goals were all down to Walshaw Park and we
were all glad for the whistle. 2 defeats in 2 weeks, no goals scored along
with poor performances are not what the season has been about so far
and we hope that the lessons learned from both will help us get back
on track soon. Keep The Faith |
Saturday 22 October 2011 - North Bury League Higher Blackley 4 v 0 3D
Dynamos Aaron Elliot Josh Leah Ben Danny Joe
Shaw Jack
(c) Kieran Subs
Revenge is sweet for Blackley In excess of 35 travelling fans made the trip to Blackley to see if the yellows could repeat last week’s performance and result in the return fixture against last week’s opposition. The first ten minutes were dominated by a rampant Dynamos, however in the same period we found ourselves 2 goals down, the 2nd goal followed a 3D’s corner and a swift breakaway and finish from Higher Blackley. From that and with no subs the emphasis was with the boys to ensure they showed character through to half time and not get any further behind. This was somehow managed through good luck, some bad finishing and some resolute defending from Elliot, Aaron and Josh with Jacob in goal pulling of a string of excellent saves.
Half Time The boys were sent back out in the 2nd half with the message that we weren’t out of this, to show character and to believe in themselves. For the opening 20 minutes 3Ds totally dominated proceedings with the passing game that has become a feature of our play this season. Chances came and went, crosses, corners rained into the Blackley box but we just couldn’t get the goal we craved and probably deserved to give us a lifeline. Then on 60 minutes the game changed as a blatant
push by a Blackley defender on the edge of the box was waved away by
the referee and as always happens Blackley went straight up into our
half and gained a penalty. This
was safely despatched and we found ourselves 3 down, which became 4 – 0
on 64 minutes as a spectacular scissor kick was slammed past the helpless
Jacob who had no chance. The remainder of the game saw both teams
with chances, but none taken. Higher Blackley got their revenge from last Saturday; however the score line doesn’t do justice to the fact that these two sides are evenly matched. For that we only have ourselves to blame as some of the team imploded and showed a lack of discipline in the 2nd half, with no subs the management had no options available to them. Football must come first and the spirit of the game SHOULD always be ahead of egos. Keep The Faith |
Saturday 15 October 2011 - North Bury League 3D Dynamos 3 v 2 Higher
Blackley Aaro Elliot Blenkinsop Sam Jimbo Fraser Joe
Shaw Jack
(c) Kieran Subs
Dynamos Delight in a Footballing Classic. A top of the table clash between 2 sides who just wanted to play football in the right manner didn’t disappoint the biggest crowd of the season. All credit today to every player as they served up an absolute classic with superbly taken goals, drama, and 7 minutes of injury time. The first half was evenly balanced on chances with Dynamos edging the possession as both midfields looked to dominate the game. 3D’s had the early chances with a free kick from Danny just going over, a couple of half chances following a real goalmouth scramble from Woody and Joe. Higher Blackley always posed a threat with the number 7 and 9 the tormentors with their pace and aggression, saw a couple of good chance dragged wide. When they did hit the target they found Jacob in fine form and he kept them at bay with a string of fine saves including one which was out of this world, from which his fingers must still be stinging. It was 3D who eventually broke the deadlock on 29 minutes as Brocky played a defence splitting pass into Woody who rounded the keeper and coolly slotted home, five minutes later it should have been 2 with Joe somehow missing the target with his header following a cross from Danny.
Half Time The boys went out for the 2nd half unchanged with Jacob, Aaron, Elliot and Sam given the task of monitoring the 2 Blackley strikers and preventing them scoring as they had done in the first half. Ten minutes into the half saw Elliot Blewitt replace Sam - who had been superb, the change was merely tactical and what we had talked about at half time - with Fraser now playing at the back and Elliot slotting into the defensive midfield role. We hadn’t even got going when Jacob went down injured following a routine save, after several minutes it was decided that he couldn’t carry on and Josh Leah was brought on as the keeper for the last 30 minutes. For the next 10 minutes the game really did spring into life and Higher Blackley used the 3D substitutions to their advantage. They equalised on 54 minutes following a corner that was floated to the back post leaving Josh no chance at all, before taking the lead on 57 minutes after some hesitancy in the 3D ranks. In opening spell of the half they also missed a penalty and saw Jacob and then Josh keeping out 2 goal bound efforts. The Yellows having looking stunned now imposed themselves back on the game and pulled level with possibly the goal of the season, never mind the game as Danny skipped down the wing before pulling the ball back to Joe on the edge of the box who volleyed home with a thunderbolt strike on 58 minutes. For the remainder of the game the two teams went at each other and defended like their lives depended on it. With 16 minutes to go Josh Lindsay was sent on to replace Jimbo, Danny switched to right wing back and Josh now partnered Woody up front. With 80 minutes now up the game looked like ending honours even, until Brocky found space on the edge of the box and hammered a shot goalwards, which the keeper could only parry. Josh Lindsay reacted first, stretched out his right leg and toe poked home the winner – brilliant. Unfortunately what happened next wasn’t so brilliant as Josh who had clashed (accidently) with the keeper when scoring cracked his head against the post and was writhing in agony with a cut forehead, after several minutes we had him sat upright and back on the touch line with an ice pack. Seven minutes of injury time followed with the management and fans chewing
down the nails and watching with their eyes shut!!! However with the
Blackley centre half now pushed up it was 3Ds who had the chances to
extend the lead. The best game we’ve been involved in all season and a big thank you to every single Dynamos player today – a real team effort and everyone smiling at the end was also a result. A draw would have been a fair reflection of the game, but three points and top of the league after 6 games is no bad way to end a pulsating game of football. Keep Smiling Boys |
Saturday 8 October 2011 - North Bury League 3D Dynamos 3 v 2 North Walkden Aaron Elliot Blenkinsop Josh Leah Jimbo Joe
Shaw Sam Jack
(c) Kieran Subs
The faithful left singing in the rain as the boys battle through to win again. Another sparkling start saw 3Ds take the lead in the first minute with Blenki on the end of a goal mouth scramble, as 3Ds got off to a flyer. North Walden looked startled by the start and took 5 minutes or so to get going, however when they did their performance made a mockery of their league position and with a bit of luck in the first half could have been 2 or 3 goals better off. The first chance saw them hit the bar, before Jacob tipped 2 goal bound shots around the corner at full stretch, 3 other saves of note followed before the yellows got back into the groove. On 36 minutes Joe assisted with the 2nd of the day following a sweeping move which started at the back and saw Danny volley home for a 2 nil lead on 36 minutes. This had followed a switch in formation which saw Sam go to full back and 3Ds play 4 - 4 - 2 as we looked for a way back into actually having the ball in possession and so it was. Without being the better team we led at half time and now had 10 minutes to change things for the better. Half Time A good chat at half time and the boys seemed confident of getting the next goal and putting this game to bed. Good plan but didn't work as North Walkden flew out of the traps and stunned the home crowd and players with 2 goals in the first 4 minutes pulling level at 2 each - in fairness they could have gone in at half time level if they had taken their chances in the first half. A startled 3Ds team now sprung into action again
and on 46 minutes - Woody
with his tenth of the season - put us back in front following an
hat trick of assists from Joe. Following the 3rd goal the Dynamos
dominated possession in midfield and apart from an odd breakaway the
majority of play was in the Walkden half. A couple of good saves
from the visiting keeper and a free kick from Danny was somehow kept
out to prevent the scoreline getting wider, before the referee drew
the end to proceedings after 4 additional minutes. A fantastic effort today from all 11 players and Chaddy who came to watch even though he spent more time on the pitch! Big mentions today for Sam who switched to left back from midfield and kept everything simple and easy. Jimbo who played with stitches in his eyebrow and showed real commitment to team and headed the ball more times today than in the last 3 seasons - according to his dad anyway. Joe Shaw for assisting with every goal we scored and finally Jacob who was absolutely tremendous in the first half with a string of fine saves and kept the boys in the game. Believe in Better |
Saturday 1 October 2011 - North Bury League Chadderton Park 2 v 7 3D Dynamos Jacob Aaron Elliot Blenkinsop Joe Jimbo Danny Elliot Blewitt Jack
(c) Kieran Subs: Josh Leah, Sam Thorpe
A blistering opening 10 minutes saw the Dynamos take total control of this game with 2 goals from Woody. In our changed blue kit we went down the hill on Clayton and before I'd wrote the team sheet Elliot had found Woody who slotted home on 2 minutes, before adding another 7 minutes later following a corner from Danny. Goals then followed as Brocky - making his return to action - found Chaddy on 22 minutes and on 26 minutes he headed his 10th of the season with Danny the provider this time. The first half goals continued with Woody getting his hat trick on 32 minutes after being put through by Joe before Chaddy Park got one back. The football for the opening 35 minutes was at times tremendous with one and two touch football totally bamboozling the opposition with the move of the game coming just after Chaddy Park had scored - a move that started on our penalty box saw the ball passed 8 times through Joe, Jimbo, Danny, Elliot and then to Woody who had his shot blocked and sent out for a corner. Half Time For 30 minutes of the 2nd half the performance was nowhere near
that of the first and with Chaddy Park getting a 2nd 6 minutes in
we looked a little nervous at times and pass selection tended to be the
wrong one. We rejigged the team to play 4 - 4 - 2 and looked a
little better before reverting to 4 - 5 - 1 for the last 10 minutes,
it was at this point we got going again and everything fell into place. Brocky
on 72 minutes scored a screamer from 25 yards out before Woody got
his 4th of the day on 77 minutes after some good work by Joe. A great performance from the boys today and with a little more confidence and belief we will continue to play good football and get the results - One season doesn't make you a bad side and the sooner you believe that the better we will be. Some big performances today from all 13 players and none more so than Kieran who was outstanding on the left or right wing. See you at training and lets go again next Saturday Keep The Faith |
Saturday 17 September 2011 - North Bury League MB united 6 v 5 3D
Dynamos Aaron Elliot Blenkinsop Josh Leah Jimbo Danny
(c) Sam Joe Kieran
A game of 2 halves saw Middy Boys take the points in the last minute of the match. The first half saw 3D's stroll into a 3 nil lead after just 13 minutes with Joe and Kieran notching their first goals of the season sandwiched between Chaddy getting his 8th in 6 games. In between the 3 goals Kieran saw a piledriver crash against the crossbar and Joe also had a 30 yarder touched around the post by the keeper, following this Elliot saw a free kick just go over the bar and at this point it was all one way traffic. Woody was added to the mix on 25 minutes to try and get the 4th to take the game beyond Middy Boys. It wasn't to be and after dominating the opening 30 minutes, 3D's seemed to go backwards and Middy Boys only needed asking once. After several near misses and constant pressure Elliot in an attempt to clear the ball put it into his own goal on 36 minutes and worse was to come 2 minutes later as the reintroduced Josh was caught ball watching and after 2 minutes of madness it was game on. Half Time The boys were sent out to play the football much simpler whilst playing against the wind and short quick football was required - our kick off saw Chaddy, Woody, Danny, Joe, Danny, Joe and then Woody the only players to have touched the ball before the keeper was picking it out of the net...wonderful football. A two goal lead lasted only a matter of minutes, before a Danny free kick on 50 minutes saw us ease back into it, Middy Boys then pegged us back to one again following some woeful Dynamos defending as the winger was allowed to go past 4 players on the bye line unchallenged - 26 minutes to go and 5 - 4 to the good. The equaliser was quite bizarre and left players, supporters and management of both sides totally bemused - with 6 minutes to go the Middy striker was fouled on the edge of the box and the referee blew his whistle for a free kick, the ball however was shot at goal, Jacob made no real attempt to save it and threw it back out. Remarkably the referee decided that he should have allowed advantage and gave the goal??? This gave Middy the opportunity to win it and on 80 minutes they got the winner and broke the Dynamos hearts. It wasn't all one way in the 2nd half and a succession of corners just wouldn't go in. Danny then had a free kick spectacularly clawed out of the top corner in the final moment of the game and a couple of long throws caused havoc in the box but our chance was gone and after leading 3 nil only have ourselves to blame for not picking up any points. We have to play football as a team and learn to just get on with what happens to us without thinking the world is against us - three big referring decisions in three league games to date have seen us prosper once and 2 against us, but that is life boys. A week off now and hopefully that will give Jack and Fraser time to recover from injuries and put us back at full strength.

Saturday 10 September 2011 - North Bury League 3D Dynamos 2 v 2 Whitworth Valley Aaron Elliot Blenkinsop Josh Leah Jimbo Danny
(c) Elliot Blewitt Joe Josh
Lindsay
The least said about this game the better as The Yellows produced the worst display all season and went back to the dark days of last season. The positives are that we remain unbeaten in the league so far this season and have now gone 7 games without defeat which stretches back to April. Quite how we did this today I don't know and getting out of jail free probably doesn't do the phrase justice. We started brightly enough and took the lead after 4 minutes with Chaddy notching his 7th of the season following a long clearance from Jacob in goal - direct to say the least. That was it as far as positives go and despite having the majority of play Whitworth never really looked like scoring, that is until they gained a corner and our Achilles heel caught us out again, with the Valley corner going straight in on 28 minutes. This was followed by another set piece on the stroke of half time with a free kick somehow making it through everyone from just outside the box. Half Time We hoped half time would spark 3D's into action, alas we were wrong! The main thing was that we didn't get any further behind and whilst only a goal down we felt that we were still in the game and surely we couldn't be that bad for 80 minutes!!!! The game changed on 70 minutes when Woody was brought down in the box - a blatant penalty to most observers - however the referee waved away the shouts much to the dismay of players, fans and myself. Amidst the protests (which cannot be tolerated) Woody was substituted and a free kick awarded on the edge of the box to Whitworth. The injustice of the situation got the Dynamos chasing everything and all of a sudden we were doing everything right, closing players down, correct decisions on the ball and an overall belief that we could do it fell upon the team. Following some good work by Kieran on the left we now had a corner, Danny floated over the ball and out of the congested 6 yard box Aaron powered home the equaliser. Players, supporters and management celebrated as though the FA Cup had been won and a sense of belief that we could actually win the game took over the doom and gloom. The Dynamos now had the bit between their teeth, however when the moment came to win it Chaddy opted to go it alone instead of feeding Danny who was free 12 yards out and despite a shout for another penalty the chance had gone. Whitworth then had the last chance but were thwarted first by Jacob and then by the referee's offside decision. Lessons learnt for today are that unless you keep the positional discipline then a team cannot operate properly - all 11 players have to do their job to allow the 1 team to do theirs. The other valuable lesson for today is that 'THE REFEREE IS ALWAYS CORRECT'.

Saturday 3 September 2011 - League Walshaw Park 1 v 4 3D Dynamos Jacob Aaron Elliot Josh Leah Jimbo Danny
(c) Fraser Joe Sam
As predicted the support was terrific with in excess of 25 fans making the trip north to Walshaw Park and they were well rewarded with a confident display from the Dynamos who ran out 4 - 1 winners on the opening day. All the pre season work in training and friendlies was carried forward by the 12 players who stuck to their task well and produced enough to overcome a Walshaw side who battled away all game and despite being 3 - 1 down at half time rallied well in the 2nd half. The first of the goals was quite fortunate as the referee allowed Danny the chance to shoot after being tripped inside the box, before awarding us a penalty after seeing the shot go over the bar. Woody in Brocky's absence stepped up and made no mistake from the spot after only 7 minutes of the new season, however the lead was short lived as from the kick off Walshaw earned a corner and scored. The Dynamos 2nd goal had no such luck - following some superb close one and two touch football in midfield by Danny, Joe and Fraser - Chaddy was sent clean through on goal by a defence splitting pass from Danny and rounded the keeper before slotting into an empty net. The yellows continued to drive forward and 21 minutes in we were 3 - 1 up as a long throw in from Fraser found Elliot unmarked at the far post who opened his 3D account from 5 yards. The football was good from the Dynamos and we even had a goal disallowed for offside - a similar move to the 2nd goal saw Chaddy sent clear, he rounded the keeper and Fraser following him slotted home only for the referee to rule he was offside, Woody also sent a shot wide after some neat play. Half Time After the break it was Walshaw who came out of the traps well with a determination to take the game to the Dynamos and had us on the back foot in the opening 10 minutes of the half, with the number 11 causing us the most problems. Josh Lindsay entered the fray after 10 minutes and became the supplier of the 4th goal as he played in Chaddy on 53 minutes who lobbed the keeper superbly from 12 yards out. From that point we were totally in control of the game and chances came and went with Danny, Josh Lindsay, Woody, Joe and Chaddy all having chances to score, the only danger to our goal was caused by ourselves. The first chance came after Elliot was adjudged to have handled in the box and a penalty awarded - the Walshaw player unfortunately dragged the penalty wide - before a corner to 3D's resulted in Jacob having to push a shot wide after Chaddy was caught in possession. Full Time An excellent start to the campaign and more of the same required next week. Keep The Faith |
Saturday 27 August 2011 - Friendly Reddish North End 1 v 1 3D Dynamos Aaron Elliot Josh Leah Jimbo Danny (c) Joe Woody Sam (T)
Honours even in a tough game of football between 2 sides who just didn't want to lose and put heart and soul into it, too this you have to take your hat off to every player involved. We are now ready for the real thing next Saturday and have remained unbeaten in our pre season fixtures, extending our unbeaten run to 5 games. We appear to have shaken off the soft side of our game from last season and to date have shown great character in 2 games by coming from behind. The boys know what is expected of them and we are all looking forward to starting the season and keeping the yellow army in good spirits. The first half today saw the Dynamos battle away against the elements (very windy), breaking away where possible. It could have been different if debut boy JJ had slotted away when sent clear, however big match nerves seem to have got the better of him as he dragged the ball wide. Chances were few and far between as the game was played out in midfield, with both defences holding firm. The moment of the half came when Elliot - under pressure - lofted the ball high towards Jacob in goal who was now back pedalling towards his goal, Jacob set himself and chested the ball down - practically on his goal line - controlled it with one touch and played it out to a yellow shirt - absolutely fantastic. Half Time The 2nd half saw the goals and a fantastic one handed save by Josh who had replaced Jacob in goal. With Jacob still not 100% after his injury we decided to rest him for the 2nd half with Josh replacing him after a fine half in defence, within minutes he had earned his wages with a superb one handed save to somehow keep the ball out of the top corner. As ever the goals turned up like buses with Reddish taking the lead on 48 minutes following some very sloppy defending by the yellows, before Chaddy got his 4th goal in 3 games on 51 minutes to restore parity. The equaliser surprisingly and not coached was very un 3D like and came through a long route one ball from Elliot via a free kick (deep in his own half) with Chaddy making no mistake from 12 yards out. The last chance of the game fell to 3D's when Danny floated over a free kick in the last minute, with 4 players running in on the ball surely someone would score..... Full Time Many thanks today to JJ, Sam and Elliot who ensured we had a full team plus a sub. We'd also like to wish Brocky all the best in his return to fitness and hope to see him back in action soon. Tuesday night against Crompton Villa for a 7 a side fitness run out before we start our league campaign. Keep Smiling |
Saturday 20 August 2011 - Friendly 3D Dynamos 5 v 2 Medlock Rangers Jacob Aaron Elliot Josh Leah Jimbo Danny Elliot Blewitt Brocky Kieran Woody Chaddy Sub
The dynamos final home friendly of the season saw them return to their spiritual home on Churchill against Medlock Rangers with what looks on paper a convincing victory, however it didn't see the team perform to the levels of last weeks draw against Bridge Eagles. The opening 10 minutes of the half were dominated by Medlock before 3D's got a grip of the game and forced Rangers back into their own half. A corner after 14 minutes from Danny found Woody on the 6 yard box who had his header turned in by Aaron who scored his first goal for the Dynamos - well in the right goals anyway. The 2nd goal came on 27 minutes as Brocky found Woody who scored his 3rd goal in 2 games before a long throw in 3 minutes before half time was headed into his own goal by Elliot leaving Jacob no chance in goal. Half Time 3D Dynamos 2 v 1 Medlock Rangers The 2nd half belonged to Chaddy who opened his goal scoring account on 43 minutes before going on to score his hat trick with goals on 51 and 74 minutes - one of which saw him go past 4 Medlock defenders before slamming home the ball from 12 yards out. Sandwiched in between his last 2 goals saw a penalty hit home by Medlock. Full Time 3D Dynamos 5 v 2 Medlock Rangers Some good individual performances today with Big Elliot outstanding in defence, closely followed by Aaron who also got on the score sheet. Jimbo playing his first game of the season took 10 minutes to get going before going on to have a good game, with Joe and Danny between them playing the last 40 minutes to ensure we had 11 players out there. Elliot Blewitt marshaled the midfield well with Brocky and Josh Leah filled in at left back leaving Jacob to have the full 80 minutes in goal. Away versus Reddish North End next week before the real thing. Keep Smiling Steve and Keith |
Saturday 13 August 2011 - Friendly 3D Dynamos 2 v 2 Bridge Eagles Aaron Joe Shaw Elliot Josh Lindsay Danny Sam Jack (c) Kieran Chaddy Woody Sub
Newly promoted Bridge Eagles made the long trip to Counthill to play the Dynamos in the first of our pre season friendlies with the honours shared in a good game of football. We started with the same shape that we finished last season with and what we have talked/worked on during pre season training, with only 12 players for the game the 10 outfield players had the chance to nail down their positions. Jacob on his return from injury (knee ligaments) started in goal with Josh Leah as substitute and a mention at this point for Chaddy who started his first competitive game up front with Woody. 3Ds dominated the opening 10 minutes with all the play in Bridge's half however we only carved out one chance of note which Chaddy dragged wide. Following a few minutes of Bridge pressure a high ball was pumped into our box which Jacob spilled and following a goal mouth scramble it ended in the back of our goal, five minutes later on 24 minutes the Eagles soared into a 2 - 0 lead as a corner was allowed to go across the goal mouth before Danny put into his own goal. Half Time Half time saw Josh Leah replace Jacob in goal and the team sent out with positivity ringing in their ears. The half time team talk was obviously inspirational as 4 minutes in and Chaddy found Woody who put the ball in the back of the net giving us some reward for the football we had played. At this point we pushed Joe into midfield to back up Danny and Jack, with Sam playing going to the right of the back 3 which helped us to dominate the midfield and get Kieran and Josh who swapped wings into more attacking positions. Sam, Elliot and Aaron looked very comfortable together and started passing the ball into midfield which is what we have worked at in training. From this we created chance after chance without actually scoring - Joe hit the bar, Chaddy hit the post, with Kieran, Danny, Brocky and Woody all having good chances. It didn't look like we would be rewarded for the football as time was running out, however it isn't over till it's over and when Danny put the ball into Woody on the edge of the box in 'Fergie Time' he chipped the keeper with his left foot - yes left foot much to the delight of the team, management and supporters. Full Time Medlock away next Saturday. Keep The Faith |
