3D Dynamos 'A' Team
30/11/03
The Summit 1 3D Dynamos 1
Scorer: A. Beckett

3D went into this away game after an impressive victory last week. Steve Southern showed faith in his inform strikers, by changing his formation to complement all three; J. Lees, A. Beckett & L. Clarke. 3D played a three, four, three formation, with Philip Coates being reduced to the bench; the only other change was Ben McNamara in on the right wing for Matt Taylor.
Dynamos out played The Summit, quite comprehensively, in the first half. Keithy Martin and Pete Jones played some mesmerising through balls which should have been finished off by the strikers, but chance after chance was squandered. The finishing of all three forwards was frightfully reserved, and The Summit grew in confidence as the game continued without a goal.
Keith Martin was some how not booked for his heart stopping challenge on Wildy (The Summits token gay lad). He crashed into the challenge with the ferocity that we have come to expect from Keith Martin. Wildy I'm pleased to inform you was not seriously hurt, just a bit of a bruised pride.
The second half continued in the same vein as the first, Dynamos creating chances but being reluctant to finish. Then from the twinkle toes of Benny Mc, he twisted and turned, this way and that, until he had half a yard; the cross was sublime (with his so called weaker left foot) and Beckett was able to dispatch the headed goal, with real aplomb.
Paul 'Bad Wrist' Fisher did a fantastic, and never fully appreciated job, as the referees assistant, I hope all the boys see that it's not an easy job, and thank him for putting up with the stick that he has to endure throughout games. Young Lee Milner was pushed to his limits as he made a tremendous save to deny a free kick, this was one of the saves of the season and it deserved the win. However minutes later he was unprotected by his fragile back three, on a corner kick, and The Summit snatched a point from the game.
Milner was great throughout apart from conceding the goal, but he should keep heart as things will change and the young keeper will learn from these unfortunate footballing moments.
I would like to remind people that it's Brooky's benefit do on Sunday in the Angel (Lees) from 6pm onwards, please turn up if only to see Coatesy doing Karaoke.
On a personal note, this is to be my last match report for the 3D Dynamos 'A' team, as I've decided to play for the 'B' team, for the rest of the season. Thanks for everyone's positive comments about the reports each week, it's been interesting and fun having this little forum, where I was able to air my views on the games I've had the pleasure to play in (and warm up for). Keep up the hard work, let's win the league.
Yours, Robert 'number 14' Faulkner.

23/11/03
3D Dynamos 9 The Rak 1
Scorers: F.Hatton (2), A. Beckett, J. Lees (2), M. Taylor, P. Jones, L. Clarke & A. White

3D started with pretty much the same team as that which started the Pine Villa Youth game, two weeks earlier, with only two enforced changes being made. Craig Biscall was brought in for the injured Michael 'I love Beckham' Brooks, and Colin Gaunt replaced the absent Gary 'karaoke king' Hamill. 3D started off at a rampant pace, Taylor to Lees, Lees to Hatton, and Hatton blasted a superb strike past the helpless keeper, one nil. Minutes later a free kick was awarded to 3D, Hatton stepped up, and was able to show why he's one of the most exciting players in the 3D squad, as he powered the ball with plenty of swerve into the top corner.
The Rak replied within minutes as the striker ran clear of the 3Ds defence and finished with a neat lobbed shot. 3D were not perturbed as they continued to attack The Rak, in wave after wave, and the goals continued to flow. Keith Martin was quick to barrack the referee with a few choice expletives, which could have landed him in real trouble, as it was he luckily remained on the field without a card to his name.
3Ds went in at half time 6 goals to 1 up, as Matt Taylor, Alan Beckett and John Lees all scored goals. The most pleasing of the goals was scored by Peter Jones who was singled out, along with his midfield partner (Keith Martin), for not scoring enough goals before this game. His goal was made even more satisfying as his parents and younger brother were at the game to see him score.
No changes were made at half time, the second half was a poor comparison of the first, the game was over, the winners already established, all that was left was to see how many goal 3D could score. The Dynamos substitutes that were used were, Ben McNamara, Lee 'the skunk' Clarke and Andy 'B2K' White. Benny Mc looked impressive in the centre of midfield and had a great opportunity to score when the goal keeper was court well off his line, it wasn't to be, but his play must surely make the manager stand up and take notice.
Clarke and White both got on the score sheet, along with John Lees in the second half, the dream of double figures wasn't reached but the Dynamos had won again and won in style.
This was a quite comfortable victory as the result suggests however there were a few opposition players who were trying to lower the tone of the game, and entice the 3D Dynamos players into a kicking match. Dynamos responded in the right way, by playing football, which at times was really sumptuous.
The one sour point of the game was when The Rak's number 3 was shown a straight red card for foul and abusive language; he was quite harshly dealt with, as other players (including Dynamos own K. Martin) were only warned by the referee. Hopefully all the players, on both sides, can learn from this and try and keep the foul language off the pitch.
Well done to all the players who featured in the game, and especially those who got on the score sheet. My personal man of the match was a close run thing; Frazer Hatton stated the whole rout off with two tremendous goals, young Lee Milner was excellent, and seemed to have the respect and confidence of the whole defence, and Rob Faulkner looked amazing in his sub suit. However the player who was quite brilliant all game, who was given his chance, and who grabbed it with both hands was, Craig Biscall:
He was strong but fair in all his tackles, comfortable on the ball, got forward where appropriate and worked extremely hard, right to the final whistle, so he gets my vote for this weeks man of the match.

Pine Villa Youth 1 3D Dynamos 3

This game kicked off with 3D knowing that a win would send them back to the top of the table. The game saw a lot of needle throughout, mainly focusing on the midfield area, where Keithy Martin and Pete Jones dominated with some strong challenges and some luscious passes. Frazer Hatton hit home the opening goal, with a volley that took an age to come down, but which was dispatched into the back of the net with stunning aplomb. The challenges continued to rain down through the midfield areas, where Keith Martin was single-handedly trying to stop each and every Villa player from walking properly for the next few weeks. With less than five minutes of the first half remaining, Michael 'Romeo-Brooklyn' Brooks was hacked down in a late tackle. He was immediately in pain and players on both sides realised the seriousness of the situation, the game was halted and an ambulance was called. Michael has suffered serious trauma to his left leg, with an extreme double break of the tibia and an excruciating multi-break of his fibula. All at 3Ds are sending out our best wishes for Mikes speedy recovery, he will be missed, both on the field and in the showers.
After the injury the game was restarted with five minutes to go before half time, 3Ds had new impatience and straight away forced several openings, one of which was finished superbly by Alan Beckett. The lofted ball played forward by Adam Husband was then controlled and passed through the eye of a needle to Alan, by the ever aware Frazer 'Hitman' Hatton. Two goals to the good we waited for the referee to blow the half time whistle, which was some time in coming.
The second half started the way that 3D wanted, they created chance after chance, without being able to convert any. John Lees was controversially given off-side, this decision proved the undoing of the3D defence. A long cross field ball which was then switched again into the box, where the Villa striker was arriving right on cue to start the game again. It was game on and 3D pressed again, without being able to claim the clinching third goal. Chances were squandered by firstly Al Beckett then by Gary Hamill, both of these chances the boys know should have secured the points for 3D. Luckily for Dynamos, John 'Willie' Lees stepped up to help scramble home the ball, which gave Dynamos the winning result.
Peter Jones gets my vote for man of the match, closely followed by John Lees (who captain, Adam Husband pointed out as having a particularly good performance). The rest of the players all turned in very competent performances, apart from one player who was fantastic. Robbie 'Williams' Faulkner (brother of star footballer Stephen Faulkner) was tremendous on the line, he was up and down the field, and was able to somehow lose all feeling in his toes, GREAT!!
Finally, happy birthday to Val (21 again), have a quick recovery Brooky (but please cut your hair), Alan Scorer we are still thinking of you, and lastly well done to the latest member of the 3D open age team ; Lee Milner who had a pretty easy introduction to life at 3D's. Can all the boys make him feel welcome.

3D Dynamos 'B' Team

It was cup action this week for Dynamos as they took on The Wellington of Division2. Dynamos were missing league top scorer Jason Stone through injury but welcomed back Tom Maloney and included new signing Matt Jackson on the bench.
Dynamos started brightly and should have taken an early lead when Paul Broadbent beat 2 defenders to go clean through but was pushed wide and the 'keeper managed to save a tame effort. It wasn't long before Dynamos did take a deserved lead, the Broadbent brothers combining with Paul threading a smart through ball for David who unleasehed a 25 yard thunderbolt which somehow went through the hapless 'keepers legs to nestle in the Churchill goal.
This only served to spur on Wellington and shortly afterwards they equalised. Captain Paul Bright gave away a penalty which returning 'Keeper John Morris saved superbly and followed it up by stopping the rebound, however this fell to Dynamos Left-Back Josh Harris who , in attempting to clear, did what the Wellington strikers had failed to and beat Morris to equalise.
Things were to get worse for Dynamos. David Broadbent missed a glorious chance to reclaim the lead and soon after the Wellington stunned Dynamos by taking the lead following a defensive mix-up which made Wellingtons striker think that Christmas had come early. Despite Marcelo, David Walters and Sam Dainty going close Dynamos trailed 2-1 at half time and knew they had to step up a gear or 3.
Wellington started the second half much the brighter but 3D's defence held firm. As the game progressed the midfield trio of Joe Rigby, Sam Dainty and Man of the Match Tom Maloney took a firm grip of the game as Dynamos pushed for the elusive equaliser.
Chances came and went and in a lat change Manager Geoff Mitchell replaced Marcelo with Matt Jackson allowing David Walters to push up front. The move paid dividends as with 5 minutes to go a cross from the left caused havoc and David Walters pounced to hook a smart shot into the far corner to give 3D's a much deseved equaliser. The celebrations showed what the goal meant although Marcus Richmond suffered a suspected broken nose as Paul Broadbent caught him with a stray arm.
Although on paper a draw against a team from a higher division is a good result Dynamos had enough chances to win the game and will be disappointed to only earn a replay. Next Sunday see's Dynamos make the trip to Fitton Hill in search of some more league points to aid their promotion push.

3D Dynamos 'A' Team
02/11/03
3D Dynamos 4 Hayside 3

Scorers: F. Hatton (pen), L. Clarke (2) & J. Lees

After a weeks break without a game the boys were back in depleted fashion, with only fourteen to choose from. Several had an over exuberant time at the 3D's event day last Sunday at Delph club, and were still thinking of the fun they had last week without being able to focus solely on the game in hand.
The team talk was to the point and only briefly interrupted by the comical timing and fantastic use of the English diction by P. Fisher as he received a phone call. S. Southern stressed the point that he can only do so much, as soon as the players cross the white line it's up to them. However for many of the players this warning about being focused was like water off a ducks back, as 3D's started in abysmal fashion. The players in the centre of midfield ran around hard and boasted some impressively strong challenges, without having any real creative flair, and without commanding the midfield or protecting the back four.
Hayside slipped the ball through the Dynamos defence with easy, as time and again challenges were half-heartedly approached. The versatile G. Hamill was horribly exposed three times in the opening 30 minutes, this put Dynamos 3 goals down. Hamill who was playing as goalkeeper, in for the injured lady-killer A. Scorer (thanks Phil), did as good a job as was to be expected with these one on one situations. Dynamos who are renowned for making things hard for themselves, now faced an almost impossible up hill challenge.
Thankfully after these three embarrassing goals Dynamos picked up the pace, P. Jones got on the ball in a forward moving style, he threaded balls through for the ever willing to run J. Lees, and was able to pick out passes that started to unlock the Hayside defence.
L. Clarke who was quite for the opening 30 minutes found a new lease of life, and was able to not only hold the ball up, but turn and run at the Hayside defence. This presented a new problem for Hayside who could only stop Clarke by bringing him down in the area for a penalty, which was easily and confidently dispatched by F. Hatton (enjoying a free roll for Dynamos). This was the turning point for 3D who then swept forward with P. Coates pushing down the right wing, which freed up P. Jones to pick out passes left right and centre. L. Clarke and J. Lees busied themselves up front and eventually Clarke received the ball and attacked down the right wing, where he forced his way into the box and passed several defenders to fire home a terrific left footed shot. J. Lees and L. Clarke hit each post in the space of seconds and Dynamos may have become despondent, but with the constant talking that resonates throughout the team from centre back to centre forward, the confidence remained. Lees sprang into action within the eighteen yard box, to squirm the ball passed three defenders a help it nicely into the back of the net.
The team talk was simple, must improve, and limit Hayside for shooting. After a good opening, Clarke found his finishing touch once more with a great shot that the Hayside keeper could only help into his own goal, 4-3 to Dynamos.
After the goal 3D continued to press without any clear opportunities being created. The chances that did fall 3D's way, were poorly finished and Hayside began to grow in confidence.
Southern made his first change, bringing on the out of favour R. Faulkner, for his first appearance of the season. He took up position on the right wing where he was instantly involved, with a run and a strong challenge, this settled his nerves and he was able to perform to a level which could only be expected of a player perhaps a little short of match practise.
On came B. McNamara (upfront) and C. Biscall (centre midfield) and both impressed in the short time they had. The final whistle couldn't have come quick enough for 3D Dynamos who were under the cosh for the final ten minutes of the game, with one or two break any chances erupting down the right wing, by R. Faulkner. Dynamos did a good job on a terrible pitch after an awful start, and were somewhat lucky to win the game, which was only made secure by three great saves by G. Hamill in the second half. One in particular, a free kick attempt heading for the bottom corner which he managed to turn behind brilliantly.
A. Scorer is out for most of the rest of the season, which is a massive blow for title hopefuls 3D. Get better soon Al.
K. Martin picked up a nasty ankle injury during the game but is expected to make a full recovery for next weeks game, away at Pine Villa Youth.
Finally well done to R. Faulkner whose first appearance of the season has helped his confidence no end, this will hopefully provide the springboard for Faulkner, which he desperately needed.
Good luck next week boys.

3D Dynamos 2 Limehurst Gola 2
B TEAM
Dynamos were this week held to a 2 all draw by a determined Limehurst Gola side. This was a disappointing result for a much changed Dynamos side, as Dave Lees missed out through injury, Marcus Richmond was suspended and Tom Maloney was stranded in Liverpool after a nasty Car incident. Limehurst Started brightly and some good early saves by keeper David Broadbent kept the scores level. At the other end 3D's were creating chances and Jason Stone had already come close a couple of times before his well timed run and shot gave 3D's the lead. This was the signal for Dynamos to create a few more chances but some good goalkeeping and wayward finishing kept the score to 1-0. However Limehust still looked dangeroous and it was no real suprise when then equalised from a corner.
This remained the case until half time when Dynamos were forced into a change with Keeper Broadbent having to go off. A determined Dynamos side took to the mudbath of a field for the second half. It wasn't long until Top Scorer Jason Stone gave 3D's the lead with a delightful lofted finish which went in off the bar. Soon after whilst pushing for the goals to kill the game off Dynamos were caught out by a long ball and Keeper John Morris had no chance as the Limehurst Striker slotted home.
Dynamos kept pushing forward for the elusive winner but some poor finishing let us down. In the end Dynamos created enough chances to win however it was just one of those days and we have to put this result behind us as there is still an excellent chance of promotion but 3D's can afford no more slip-ups. Next Sunday see's Dynamos in Cup action at Churchill as they entertain 2nd division Wellington looking for a bit of Giantkilling before continuing their promotion push.

3D Dynamos 4 Front House 0
B TEAM
3D's returned to form on Sunday with a convincing 4-0 victory over Front House. Dynamos were commanding throughout and from the minute Sam Dainty opened the scoring with a stunning 25 yard free-kick the result was never in doubt.
New Brazilian signing Marcelo was unlucky to have a goal ruled out for offside however things were to even themselves up soon after when Top Scorer Jason Stone bagged his 21st of the season despite a dubious challenge on the Front House Centre Half.
The score remained 2-0 until half time but this was only due to some fine goalkeeping and the width of the crossbar denying the Waves of Dynamos attacks.
The second half continued in the same manner as 3D's bombarded the Front House goal with the woodwork again denying Stone and the Impressive Paul Broadbent. It was only a matter of time until Dynamos strengthened their grip on the game and Jasson Stone duly obliged with his 22nd of the season following yet another flowing move. Paul Broadbent completed the rout near the end with a smart run and finish and Dynamos even had the luxury of making 3 changes near the end.
It is hard to single out any one player for praise as it was a good, solid team performance although special mention should got to stand in keeper David Broadbent and the watertight back 4 for securing Dynamos first clean sheet of the season.
This Sunday 3D's take on a resurgant Limehurst Gola side who have won their last 2 matches, although if Dynamos can reproduce Sundays form then they should continue with their promotion push.

3D Dynamos 3 Pine Villa 1
A short report this week as our budding young reporter wasn't at the game.
Dynamos started the first half in the same mood they finished off Harlequins the week before, however it didn't last! Even though the final score sounded comfortable it was far from it. The lads (I thought) made hard work of it in the 2nd half. A jubilant Alan Beckett scored all 3 goals, my favourite being the 2nd, a cheeky little kick from a corner ball at the far post, which had Bob jumping up and down behind the goal!!
This win sees us staying in top position by a point from Harlequin, as we don't have a fixture this week we will have it all to do at home on the 2nd Nov against Heyside to make sure we stay at the top.

Church Inn 4 3D Dynamos 0
B TEAM
3D Dynamos came crashing back to earth this week after a disappointing 4-0 defeat at table topping Church Inn. 3D's were hampered by bad luck throughout and ended the game with only 9 men, due to the sensitive ears of the referee!
Dynamos started slowly, they began to get going after 10 minutes with David Walters going close. Just as it seemed 3D's were getting a foothold in the game Church amazed everyone with 3 goals in a remarkable 7 minute spell. Things got worse for a shellshocked team on 35 minutes when stand-in goalkeeper Nick Mitchell was forced off with a knee injury. This led to striker David Broadbent donning the gloves as the team was reshuffled. There was controversy at half time when influential midfielder Sam Dainty was sent off for disputing an earlier decision, so yet again a stunned team had to be reshuffled. Early in the 2nd half Dynamos had a penalty, however captain Paul Bright fired wide, Paul's afternoon got worse when he too was sent off for disagreeing with the referee a little too enthusiastically! Despite these setbacks Dynamos battled hard and went close on several occasions. David Broadbent made several excellent saves which kept the score respectable, although Church did score late on to seal their 4-0 win.
It was an awful day for 3D's who must put this setback behind them and continue their promotion push next Sunday against Front House, the only consolation being that Dynamos can not play as badly again for the rest of the season.

Queens 1 3D's 4
B TEAM
Dynamos made it 7 games unbeaten after a superb display at 2nd placed Queens. The result has put 3D's above Queens and sends us into next weeks clash with table-topping Church Inn in buoyant mood.
Dynamos started brightly and despite wasting some early chances it was no surprise when Jason Stone pounced to score his 19th goal of the season after rounding Queens keeper following an excellent through ball. Dynamos had chances to extend their lead, but a combination of poor finishing and good goalkeeping kept the score 1-0, then out of the blue Queens equalised with a 25 yard shot giving impressive keeper John Morris no chance.
It stayed 1 each until half time, 3D made a tactical change and brought on Nick Foulkes for his debut, allowing David Walters to push into midfield. A rejuvenated 3D's came out for the 2nd half and the determination to win was evident.
Dynamos improved and restricted Queens to long shots and half chances. 3D's 2nd goal was finished in style by Sam Dainty from the edge of the box. 10 minutes later we made it 3 with a well worked corner routine that David Walters hammered home. Queens were now getting frustrated and this boiled over when they were reduced to 10 men after a reckless kick was aimed at Marcus Richmond.
Jason Stone hammered home is 2nd of the game (20th of the season) with a typical poaches goal! David Broadbent was unlucky with a 30 yard effort on the turn and a curling effort from the edge of the box. The game finished with 3D's very much on top and as the final whistle went the joy on the faces of players, managers and supporters was there for all to see.

12/10/03
3D Dynamos 4 Harlequin 1
Scorers: L. Clarke & A. Beckett (3)

This game always proves to be a meaty encounter. Last season Harlequin took the maximum points off 3D's in the league but Dynamos were victorious in the cup campaign.
Both teams are looking to be in with a shout of automatic promotion this season, the Oldham Evening Chronicle were present for this game as they were aware of its significance on the league table, and the implications that the result would have on the teams for the rest of the season.
Harlequin started well and found that they were in front within the opening ten minutes. The endeavour of the Dynamos play, after this early set back, was rewarded with a goal by L. Clarke. Clarke struck the ball without any real conviction or malice yet by the aid of a deflection the shot was turned into the Harlequin goal.
Dynamos had only one clear chance after the goal, which was a squandered opportunity by L. Clarke, as he headed wide from less than 108 inches. The half time score was possibly a fair reflection on the first half, with neither team really dominating the play. The second half saw a belief in the Dynamos play yet without any clear chances being created. The 3D defence were superb throughout this effervescent battle; M. Brooks P. Coates, C. Gaunt & A. Husband were individually brilliant but more pleasing to the eye was the fluid, channelled, understanding that oozed from the manor of play within this fully conversing back line.
A. Beckett was subdued lackadaisical and none influential for most of the first half and into the second, however a good run proved to be just the reinvigorating tonic that he required. With a spring in his step and the promise of a memorable time in the showers after the game, with birthday boy Bob 'spectacular' Street, Beckett set about demolishing the Harlequin back line. He was forced into a one on one situation with the impressive Harlequin keeper, by a tremendous G. Hamill first time pass. A player was quoted as saying the pass was:

"Instinctive, telepathic, incomprehensible, exasperating. The player is a craftsman working at the pinnacle of his trade". Quote by G. Hamill later that evening in Legends.

Beckett sprinted onto the through ball and finished without any real difficulty, he then rampaged through twice more to claim his first 3D Dynamos hat trick, and win the tie between the two sides.
P. Jones was useful throughout and provided a little light relief when an extra ball was accidentally allowed to enter the play. Jones rasped the spare ball at the Harlequin midfielder, in control of the match ball; he then proceeded to dispossess his opposite number, to the delight of the supporters.
R. Faulkner was once more this season without a shirt, to the dismay of ALL the fans. The supporters were denied the exhibition and sumptuous mercurial trickery that Faulkner can produce on the meadow, given half a chance.
Well done to all the players, for this victory is one which was much deserved and could hopefully be the start of a long winning streak, if the players continue to play with such drive, right to the last minute. Well done boys.

05/10/03
Spinners Arms 1 3D Dynamos 7
Scorers: L. Clarke (4), P. Jones, G. Hamill & J. Lees

Dynamos turned up in fine spirits to find that the team they were facing only had ten players, this gave a more than slight advantage to Dynamos who have a squad of twenty eight signed players. Dynamos played well but without showing the fluency that we know they can produce. The first incident of the game was the forced substitution of Michael "Brooklyn Beckham" Brooks, after only fifteen minutes of play. On came G. Hamill into the centre of midfield, and C. Biscall was reverted to left back. The opposition goal keeping was not the best, to say the least, but having said that 3D scored no goals of any real class or invention. The goal of the game was scored by the goal machine that is L. Clarke. Clarke raced away from the defence and bore down on the hapless goal keeper, he opened up his body and stroked home a truly great goal which vivaciously flew into the top corner of the goal.
G. Hamill was told at half time by the manager to stay in a more advanced role in the second half, this he did and was rewarded with a goal. Hamill's goal was greeted with real glee from the Dynamos supporters and players alike.
P. Jones should have had two or maybe even three, his first effort was cheekily knocked over the line by Clarke, his second effort found the back of the net, and with his third attempt he somehow managed to hit the crossbar with an open goal gapping.
The second substitute to be used was J. Lees who came on and impressed, looking sharp and lively, he joined G. Hamill as a scoring substitute in this game, making it two in as many games for the striker, who's found his goal scoring touch once more.
The final substitute on the day was A. White who came on for a cameo appearance after the game was already well won, he like Lees, looked sharp and full of running, the love memento that he was donning (a blue bracelet) seemed to add a certain something to White's game.
P. Coates after being away for a fortnight was thrown straight back into the side and featured for the full ninety minutes, well done to him on his return.
D. Cullington was comfortable in goals for 3D, he faced a penalty and came out on top and was only denied a clean sheet after the referee disregarded a foul on him and the opposition pounced.
D. Lees and R. Faulkner made the bench this week. I'll be keeping you up to date on R. Faulkner's progression in the squad as the weeks fly by. So far he's featured in zero games, he has however managed to shower with the team on several occasions already this season - which is nice...
Finally a big shout out to Paul "Casanova" Fisher, he's got a real way with the lady's, must be the eyes.

28/09/03
3D Dynamos 3 Shaw 2
Scorers: C. Gaunt, F. Hatton & J. Lees

Dynamos were determined to build on the tremendous win two weeks earlier against Park Side. S. Southern wished to field an unchanged side in this fixture but was forced to make changes. A. Scorer was out with an ankle injury, so in came the newly signed Cullington (Dynamos now have 3 sets of brothers playing for them). S. Faulkner was unavailable, so too were P. Coates and I. Hauge.
Southern was still able to pick a strong side, with newly appointed captain A. Husband leading the charge from the rear (as he often does on nights out).
Dynamos started sluggishly, they had the better of the chances first half without really looking too threatening, K. Martin having the best chance that was saved on the line after a well delivered corner to the near post by F. Hatton. Shaw had one chance at goal and took it, forcing Dynamos onto the back foot. The second half saw a reinvigorated Dynamos side. G. Hamill was substituted and on came A. Beckett. A quick re-jig of positions brought a new shape and balance to 3D. Beckett up front, Taylor to right wing, Cullington to right back and the ever versatile P. Jones returned to the centre of midfield.
The goal was coming for Dynamos, and what a goal it was, a corner was swung in and arriving right on queue was the towering figure of C. Gaunt, to head the ball emphatically over the line.
Dynamos then went for the second which was duly dispatched by F. Hatton, as he lofted the ball, effortlessly, over the stranded keeper. Dynamos were now firing and looked odds on for the 3rd goal which would have killed the tie. However as Dynamos often do, they relaxed and let Shaw back in the game with a poor goal. The credit goes to Shaw who capitalised on the slack Dynamos defending.
Southern then brought on the Dynamos legend that is John 'Willie' Lees, the script was written, could Lees be the difference, could this out of form striker find his goal scoring touch, had Southern made a master stroke in bringing on J. Lees. Yes, with 10 minutes remaining a shot-come-cross by the impressive A. Beckett found an unmarked J. Lees at the back post, just the type of invitation that Lees couldn't refuse. He dispatched the goal and the jubilation was clear for all to see.
Dynamos made it difficult for themselves (as is often the case) but had the resolve, belief and ability to come out on top.
A few quick mentions;
All at the club would like to say a tremendous well done to Dave Lees who ran the Great North Run for a fantastic cause last week in a time of 2hrs 19mins. Well Done Dave. Thanks to Rob Shaw, an avid 3D Dynamos watcher, for taking up the role of referee for this game, I know it wasn't easy for you Rob, but all the players and the management much appreciate it. Well done also, to R. Faulkner for surviving the 2 week drinking binge that was freshers fortnight, and for entertaining the crowd this Sunday with his football skills on the side line. Brooky has a new girl friend, so well done to him, however P. Coates is due back in England on Wednesday and may have a few choice words to say about it.
Finally, S. Southern has, it appears, not learnt his lesson about wearing feminine coloured clothes to football. STOP WEARING PINK!!

14/09/03
3D Dynamos 12 Park Side 0
Scorers: A. Hamstring (O.G.), M. Taylor (2), L. Clarke (7) & A. Beckett (2)

Dynamos started the game with real drive and determination to exorcise the memory of the last two performances. Several changes to the team were made by the manager; A. Husband was made captain at centre half, S. Faulkner returned to the team, P. Jones was moved out to the right wing and L. Clarke was given a new strike partner in M. Taylor. The team gelled from the off and quickly started scoring. M. Taylor, L. Clarke and A. Beckett (replaced Taylor) scored eleven goals, and an own goal by Park Side made for the total humiliation, of a 12:0 final score.
Two incidents of note in the game (besides the goals) were, the tremendous strike by K. Martin that crashed against the cross bar, which deserved a goal, and P. Coates being knocked out by the football being obliterated into his already disfigured face at around 90mph. That's gonna hurt in the morning son!!
Well done to all the players who featured in the game. With a squad of 27 signed players there will obviously be those who will feature and those who will miss out, the manager has a tough job in trying to keep all of the players happy. Throughout the rest of the season every player will no doubt be given a chance to stake a claim to a starting position, so if you are given a shirt, you must keep hold of it with the high level of performances that are expected at the club.
Well done again and lets return in two weeks with another quality performance.

Sunday 7th September
The Rack 2 3D Dynamos 2
Scorers: F. Hatton & J. Ashworth

Dynamos seem to enjoy making things hard for themselves as this game again proved. 3D started with real drive and vigour, with Paul Cullington fashioning most of the openings down the right hand side, supported by Adam 'the hair' Husband. The chances came and went, P. Cullington's one on one was saved, G. Hamill headed just over and F. Hatton striking just wide. The Rack broke and with their first shot of the game they took the lead.
The second half saw no changes to the line up, just a fresh optimism, and within ten minutes Dynamos were back on level terms, F. Hatton stroked the ball home after arriving on queue from a J. Lees cross.
Dynamos then had the chance to take a hold of the game and go for the win, but another piece of lack lustre defending left Alan 'the model' Scorer exposed and the forward didn't waste the opportunity that was presented to him. The Rack led for the second time in the match and it tested the Dynamos spirit, which proved strong. Dynamos poured men forward in search of the equaliser, and with the introductions of J. Ashworth, C, Briscall and P. Coates a fresh look to the side developed.
The ball played in to Jamie 'saxo' Ashworth by Phil 'the length' Coates was measured to perfection. Ashworth shot for the equaliser and the tempestuous G. Hamill held off the scrambling defender to help the ball reach the back of the net.
This display was well below the standard that is expected of the players; by themselves, the management or the supporters. The opening three games have seen a win a loss and a draw, which shows the uncertainty of the Dynamos team. The return of players such as B. McNamara and S. Faulkner will be a welcome sight for next weeks game, after the news of R. Faulkner's three week injury, and the devastating news of P. Fisher being ruled out with a season long injury.
On a lighter note Adam Husband looked really, really good in his new boots and Andy 'B2K' White looked great in his sweatband.

Sunday 4th September
Shaw 2 3D Dynamos 1
Scorers: L. Clarke

Dynamos came to this night match and never looked from the beginning like they wanted to be there. A. Scorer was outstanding in the Dynamos goal, his catching and distribution were superb. He displayed a vociferous side to his game that he's been working on in pre-season, however even he was unable to lift the players.
The team looked unbalanced across the back four and the midfield. J. Lees and L. Clarke up front fashioned many chances but were reluctant to finish them. The game was goalless at half time, but after a stern word from manager S. Southern Dynamos came on strong and proceeded to attack the game in all areas of the pitch. L. Clarke raced through the offside trap and finished in some style. This goal somehow worked in reverse for Dynamos as they became ramshackle at the back. The removal of C. Gaunt (centre back), K. Martin (centre midfield) and J. Lees (centre forward), disrupted the spine of the team, and 3D were unable to cope with the changes. The football suffered and Dynamos conceded two bad goals from which they could not recover.
The game ended on a sour note with G. Hamill getting embroiled in a moment of raised hands and verbal abuse. I'm sure he regrets this and will surely learn from it in future games.
Dynamos need to lift they performance for the next game on Sunday so they can get back to winning ways.

Sunday 31st August
3D Dynamos 4 Summit 1
Scorers: P. Jones, F. Hatton (2) & L. Clarke

Northern Lads Do It For Southern
This was the opening game of the season in the new division for 3D, however with a good pre-season under their belts the newly promoted Dynamos looked in control for most of the game.
The opening goal was produced by the visitors, as 3D were unlocked at the back for the first and only time in the match. 3D Dynamos responded in characteristic style by fighting their way right back into the game with a headed goal from P. Jones, and a set-piece free kick from F. Hatton.
The second half was very similar to the first, with the Summit not having any clear goal scoring chances. Dynamos extended their lead with a penalty by F. Hatton and a goal from 3D's new boy Clarky.
3D Dynamos are hoping to do well in the first division this season, this impressive start will build their confidence going into the next game on Thursday. Dynamos have added to last season's impressive squad with the signings of L. Clarke, C. Briscall, G. Hamill, P. Cullington, M. Taylor and I. Hauge to name a few.
We wish M. Jones well at his new club this season after helping 3D's achieve both silver-wear and promotion last year.

Open age B team match report.
In our 1st outing against Byron we lost 4-3. Our goals coming from Rigby, Bright, & Mitchell
It was a very physical match which was not helped by a very weak referee.
