3D Dinosaurs
The Dinosaurs were formed about 15 years ago when the fathers of the 3D Dynamos lads entered a charity knockout tournament in Manchester. Our only game that day resulted in a humiliating 26-1 defeat (we're still convinced it was a training match for Man Utd on a week when they only had 3 competitive matches!), but, undaunted, we decided that results were not everything , we all had a great day and recaptured some of our youth.
The committee decided to start an Over 35's team and provided a kit (a proposed sponsorship deal with Sanatogen fell through on the grounds of being over the target age for their products!!). In return we would rise funds for the junior section (we collect a few quid from each player).
Our aim is to play around a dozen matches per season (usually Sunday afternoons) against similar teams in a friendly yet competitive game. Our motto is "we all have to work tomorrow".
After the match we lay on sandwiches in our local, The Woolpack in Dobcross (changing facilities,showers) where we can share a pint or two and discuss; great goals, offsides, dodgy knees, etc..
Anyone interested in arranging a game please get in touch. We are willing to travel for games providing we can all get our passes signed for a day out.
